Posted by kissmygritsThank you! I plan to use see-through, iridescent fabric stretched out over wire hangers (?) for the wings. I will wear very bright and colorful make up. And my skirt will be made of bits of fabric to resemble leaves. My boyfriend (who will have a more industrial look to his costume) wants to strap my torso in various belts to give it an insect-like-yet-industrial bodice look - it will be the connection to his outfit. He als would like me to wear his steampunk goggles. His outfit will connect with mine in that he will have wings, too, only his will be made of empty umbrella frames and I may make him small, feathered, black antennas.Posted by starloverMy favorite J W Waterhouse!

I try to search Instructables or the Chewbacchus site for tips on costuming. Dragon fly wings sound dreamy!click to expand

Posted by asc_scorp1991I...I think you've got the wrong event?
I enacted Dobby the house elf in the book week competition in my school and won the prize.
Wasnt fit to be a fairy then...
Well, now i can very well play the role of a sexy devil complete with a burning hot pitchfork, black lingerie with fishnet stockings and red plastic horns with LED lights inside them.
Add some vampire fangs and 7" high pumps + blood red lipstick.
Oh and those who wanr to get smacked with a pitchfork are welcome

I have always had a liking for magic, despite being raised monotheisticly religious. Naturally, I grew up reading Harry Potter, and later, Terry Pratchett. Before that, I loved Merlin, the Knights of the Round Table, Hocus Pocus, Mary Poppins, Roald Dahl and any book that had magic or fairy tales. I clapped my hands for Tinker Bell, and I still chant along to "I do believe in fairies."
I'm very excited to join in the festival and magic and to join everyone in celebrating the first day of spring. I very much look forward to dancing, too.
Has anyone ever been to Fairie Fest? Has anyone ever attended anything similar?
