I think some people cann't handle the truth I had a pisces friend shes 30 anyways all she talked about was her problems and sex later she told me she suffers from depression and anxiety and shes on prescrip meds for it Then she admitted to me she smoke pot' alot of pot. This woman suffers from extreme paranoia and she has some deffinate anger issues she can get so verbbally violent she even threatened to kill everyone at work . she would talk about suicide all kinds of disturbing things and I told her theres more to life then getting laid and smoking pot.

Well the shit hit the fan she avoids me like the plague I tried to tell her she needs to leave the booze and pot alone for a while and get her life sorted out by dealing with her problems first but she didn't like that at all.

All my fault for speaking the truth but someone had too.

Do I regret it Yes in some ways but I,d like to see her get her life in order and not be so extreme in her moods and to get those anger issues under control.. She needs help for sure professional help.

Will she listen Nope shes trying to make friends now of the people she told me that hate her. I dont get it one bit

"The truth is people are always honest. Regardless of what they say, their actions/inactions are never dishonest."

+1

However, I must respectfully disagree with your statement of "perception is reality". Perception is a(n) individual thought process, not necessarily reality. Reality is created by individual thought process. For example, if a man and a woman share a platonic friendship, they laugh, hug, hang out, etc...to the outsider looking in, their relationship could be perceived as initmate even though in reality, it's platonic. So, if the outsider THINKS its an intimate relationship, then it is. Does that make sense?

It makes perfect sense. I guess I should've clarified. A person's perception is their reality. As you and I stated, actual reality or truth is in the middle or something entirely different. Thanks for the correction.

Do people really want to hear honesty or just what they want to hear?

it's the best policy for the honest person. who wants to live with a lie? prior to divulging the honesty, one lives with the secret whereas the other person could be none the wiser. the longer the secret is held, the more painful it becomes...for both.

by being honest, you free yourself, but also give the other an opportunity to be free as well. once the truth is known, they don't have question. the longer the truth is held, the more opportunity there is to backtrack and question what the truth really is.

GF: Honey, I think my behind is too big. What do you think?
Me: Babe, I love it just the way it is. It's perfect! [honesty]
GF: Hmmmm... You're just saying that!
ME: No, honestly, I see nothing wrong with your behind. I love everything about you and your jeans still fit you the same. [honesty]

THREE WEEKS LATER...

GF: I'm sure my behind is bigger than it was before. Are you sure it hasn't changed?
Me: Babe, I love it just the way it is. There's absolutely nothing different about it whatsoever, from where I'm standing. [honesty]
GF: Hmmmm... I don't believe you...
ME: No, seriously, you look absolutely great! Your proportions are divine. You're being paranoid. [Goes into intricate detail about every physical aspect and flaw of GF - all of which are stated as a source of personal pleasure] [honesty]

ONE MONTH LATER...

GF: Honey, I really think my behind is too big.
Me: *rolls eyes* Yeah, you're right - you look like an elephant from behind! [a lie draped in sarcasm]
GF: *gasps in dismay*
Me: *grinning like a Cheshire Cat*

Omg I,ve been through the same thing that made me laugh I basically handled it the same way. I don't know why women ask us that question anyways if you say yes seriousely your sleeping on the sofa for a day or two. And we know it too

I always tell people the truth out of respect. I always feel so disrespected and angry when I find out I've been lied to. And when you lie to people, they rob you of your ability to make an informed decision. As a leeb that is sacrilegious to me.

This, except I feel if someone lies to me they rob me of my ability to make an informed decision.
And I don't like that.
Because I wouldn't do it to them so farked if I know why they think they have the right to do it to me.

And it never works out well because obviously as an Aries I don't have time to fcuk around waiting for karma to bite you in the azz so I am more than happy to step into the breech🙂

Post your view here of what you think of honesty?
Do people really want to hear honesty or just what they want to hear?

People only want to hear what they want. If they get the truth, they become outraged and attack the person handing them the truth.

However, telling the truth isn't always the best policy. If your grandmother can't see and her make up is fucked up, and her clothes don't match and she can't help herself because her eyes can't match colors ..... then you should lie everytime and tell her she looks lovely today ....

As requested. Final act amended:

ONE MONTH LATER...

GF: Honey, I really think my behind is too big.
Me: *rolls eyes* Yeah, you're right - you look like an elephant from behind! [a lie draped in sarcasm]
GF: *looks at Me as if he said her mother was a whore* You fucking dissing me? You mother??_ *Throws the heaviest object to hand and goes into an incoherent rant, approaching closer as her head oscillates in all directions like an Egyptian dancer on speed*
Me: Eh, I was only joking! Steady on!
GF: *incoherent rant* And you think you??re so hot, huh? You fucking... *incoherent rant resumed, as her testosterone levels dangerously go into overdrive*
Me: Okay, okay! Seriously, your behind is fine. I was only joking. Come on, calm down, baby! Chill!
GF: *pauses then shoots a half-offensive gaze* You watch your fucking mouth, next time. You hear?
Me: Whatever you say, baby. Ahhhhh... come here, sugar.

*GF and Me hug for several moments, as Me discreetly breathes a sigh of relief*

Me: So, while we??re on the subject, when are you going to stop wearing weave-ons? You claim you??re proud of your blackness but have hair like a white wo...

*Me crashes to the floor, after being knocked out for six*
