Many people seek to appear more attractive or successful to boost their self-esteem or social standing. This behavior can involve choosing partners or surroundings that make them feel superior or more attractive. It is often driven by a desire for validation and to maintain a sense of control or superiority in social settings.

Kind of like a wedding party .... the Bride makes damn sure that her attending ladies are wearing hideous dresses, so she is the one who outshines everybody else.
Do you find yourself doing that in real life relationships? I've heard a couple people say in here that they are with a partner they think is ugly ... and I was like wtf? And there are a couple others I know that are with people to whom one is very attractive, the other not so much.
I have a friend in real life who is absolutely gorgeous, and her husband not .. in fact, he wants to have children and she won't because of this ... yet, she stays with him.
Is this normal? Do you find that you do this? And maybe not even referring to looks ... perhaps, personality / disposition also ... you always want to be better.
