And although most of the time it actually IS easier said than done, I can't help but to get irritated at those who constantly use this line as an excuse to stay in a bad or lose/lose situation.
If you keep using this line as an excuse, you'll never get anywhere. Things might ALWAYS be easier said than done but eventually you've got to make a move & get away/get out of certain situations. If not, quit complaining. If you tell yourself that you can, you will. And if you tell yourself that you can't, you're right.
There's nothing worse than hearing someone complaining about how unhappy, bitter, or stressed they are, only to conclude their story with, "It's easier said than done" the moment someone steps in & says, "Well duh, dump the bastard!" Sometimes we should listen to ourselves & realize how weak and ridiculous we sound.
It's quite tacky & pitiful to vent about something as if you're too good/too strong to put up with something/someone but yet the minute someone advices you for the UMPteenth time to leave, they always hit you with the "It's easier said than done" line. Oh give me a break!
I don't feel bad for those who make the DECISION to keep staying in unhealthy situations, especially if they're only excuse is that it's "easier said than done."
Getting away from someone who is abusive, crazy or just a bad companion in general, might be harder than 1 2 3 but if people would spend half the energy they spend on making excuses & use that SAME energy towards finding the right mindset, attitude, & resources, they wouldn't be going through so much heartache.
Half of the heartache we've been through in our lives are SELF induced. If someone has cheated on you 5 times, it's b/c you made too many excuses after the FIRST time they cheated. If someone finally punches you, it's b/c you made too many excuses the FIRST time they just "pushed" you. If someone has lied to you 3 times, it's b/c you made too many excuses after the FIRST time they showed you that honesty wasn't their cup of tea. Seriously, most of our own unhappiness is our fault.
Things may be hard, BUT they're NOT impossible, especially since there's a whole world full of people who have beat the odds, set the example or offered others the resources to get away from unhappy situations. You can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves.
