Is there anyone on the boards who are Jewish? Just wondering... I think it sucks that Jews have to get their religion from their mothers side of the family, because that means the only way I'm marrying someone really Jewish is that I have to convert... And then I have to learn Hebrew! I had a dream about that last night, reading from the Torrah in Hebrew... Really had to pronounce all the words.

pheonix... no, since all sheriff cars have star-of-davids on them and no one even seems to notive. Of course, some people may believe you are jewish if you wear star of david, but probably only the non-jewish ones because in reality more of them wear their hebrew name on a necklace rather than the star.

oh and, do you find it offenisive if a non-christian wears a cross? i just think so many of them are pretty and its unfair because of the religious content.

lol james. don't ever use the dishes in an orthodox jewish house without consulting. Meat symbolizes blood and death, which is okay by itself. And cheese/dairy products sybolizes life from mother's milk, which is ok by itself. But don't mix life and death at the table no no no. And there is special dishes that are reserved for the meat meal and others for the dairy meals so as to not have one contaminiate the other. Of course at our house (a jewish household though Im not Jewish) we ignore it and just "pretend" that the mashpotatoes have no milk in them when eating with meatleaf and that the bacon really is Canadian bacon which is really turkey.

oookaaay. I wrote too much now no one will read it.

No, it was good. Until I read the last line about the household, I just thought all the guys must have stopped after learning "salad fork.. Say It!!"
Well, I joked, but a good post & great tip.
