how is it that we can really trust what is written in modern jewish and christian scripture and quote it as if the law? were they not originally written by human hand and then translated again and again? and therefore should be subject to more scrutiny?

original scriptures have nearly disintegrated. how can we differentiate myth from true history when much could possibly (definitely) have been lost in translation?

controlling is an extreme way of looking at religion, but not at all far fetched. some are that way for sure, but christianity i dont think is so much about control for the laity as much as it is for the people who started it all... people who might have been desperate to believe in something. passed down as far as it has been... its become something that only very few seem to question. the majority of people go as they have been taught and because that is the pattern, yes, it can eeeeaaasily be used and abused as a way to control. for the most part, i share the same sentiments Ol'J.
