Does this sag still like me?

My birth charts are very compatible with this sag guy.
We were on and off for a few months, until he told me that he liked me, but could only offer me friendship right now, as he just wasn't ready emotionally or in the head for a committed relationship.
Haven't seen or really contacted him in six weeks due to holidays.
Saw him in passing a few days ago, and he seemed happy to see me, smiled and looked at me quite a bit.
He asked me if I had changed my number, when I said yes he asked me when I had done it, and seemed a little sad and said that I wouldn't have received any of his messages then. (What he didnt know is that I still have my old number as well, and he hasn't sent me any messages!!!
Why would he want me to think he has been texting me when he actually hasn't—? Do you think he still likes me, and if I give him the space he clearly needs and not contact him other than to say hi occasionally will he come back and want a relationship with me—

Gave him my new number - received a text saying thanks etc, but nothing flirty!!!
Seemed like he really liked me a few months ago when we got together - he is really confusing me!!!!

I'm not needy or clingy at all - just bloody confused and after coming out of a 10yr marriage have forgotten how to date!!!!
Ain't calling him at all n only text to say hi every now and again!
He just confused me again when I saw him and he questioned me about my number and said he had been texting my old number when he clearly hasn't - sure he still likes me n he will want me again in the future, but confused?!?!?!

You should of just asked him this question tbh. You should have proved him to be the obvious liar that he is. If u know hes lying 2 you, call him out on it.

Really do not think he's a liar, I'm honestly thinking that he wants me to think he's been trying to contact me to let me to know he likes me without telling me!
I believe him when he says he isn't ready, just hope by giving him time and space he decides to come back to me sooner rather than later!

That was a jerk move on his part. He's trying to toss the blame on you about why he doesn't want to see you anymore.

He doesn't want a relationship with you. Avoiding, lying and denying and now more avoiding.

How much more of this crap treatment do you need?

Don't you KNOW... Sagittariuses are charmers. That was just something to flatter you (whether it be in the moment, or to perhaps start up the chase. Although judging he let it go six weeks, doesn't want a real relationship yet... probably just in the moment.) It would've been funny if you'd not missed a beat and said "Oh but I kept my old number, I didn't get any of them." And watched his face.

But yeah, he doesn't like you anymore. They're breezy like that but oh-so lovely when they're not!
