I don't get what the big deal is. The first store that installed it here went live with it at 5pm. It's a large grocery/variety store, and was busy. So the machines were erroring during checkout, but they wouldn't accept a swipe.
All of a sudden there were "beep"s all over the place and people standing there, with blank stares, looking for an attendant to do something. Some people gave up and left with their groceries without paying. Close to mayhem; I was not jealous of the poor employees.
I really don't see any advantage to using them but whatever. Every machine is different and it's hard to keep track of what you have to do with every one.

alt topic: i used to have a windows 8 laptop. so I'm laying there taking a nap. i kinda daze back into reality, and take a look at my laptop screen and see "Upgrading Windows" and i'm not that concerned. because i'm trying to nap. i say "fuck it" and
