sheez that was supposed to say "live stream" ... guess I was all excited thinking about being beamed up and probed ...

no packages please - I believe that terrestrials will bring us peace - either by destroying us or intermingling with us - I hope they have nice personalities and are fun to hang out with ...

You remind me of the old Independence Day movie and they are all holding a sign up on that Tall building.

I'm the one on ground running to shield looking at yall crazy ones saying beam me up scottie. Fuck that you are on your own. But then again I would attempt to drag you with me to safety.

This is it, the opening sequence of Battleship. I always knew that was a prophetic movie.

I guess they didn't think Donald would make it this far. They overestimated or misunderstood the mentality of half the US population

Anyway I feel space travel at the speed of light is impossible. It doesn't mean it isn't possible, but I don't see how any lifeform could progress to travel the speed of light before the sun giving the planet life burns out.

Then again, I guess non carbon based life could exist.

anything is possible out there - it's infinite - we exist and we are not special

I wouldn't say that. In a universe full of dust and dark matter it's pretty impressive for inanimate objects to magically come to life and start living, perceiving reality, and evolving.

it's not magic but it is impressive - it's evolution - ever read Darwin's Theory of Evolution

Oh yea, I know that theory. I keep that theory next to my Star Trek and Star Wars comics.

Funny how our best discoveries just remain theory, because there is no facts.

well now isn't that why we are not special ? because we haven't figured it all out yet - probably never will get a chance too either ...

I'm speaking as any living matter as a whole, not just humans. If you take into consideration what the universe is made out of, I find it impressive and special that life can and did exist period. Unless nothing is real and everything is just an invisible floating consciousness filling in empty spaces, but that's neither here nor there.

Tecnically speaking there was never anything to discover in the first place, as far as the dark matter and dust is concerned.

I understand that is your opinion but I don't agree - I was speaking about our planet not being special not just humans which is just the word/label civilization that has been given - if it is possible for organisms to evolve into what we have here, then it is plausible that same could happen elsewhere in this galaxy or another galaxy - space is infinite and the human mind can not grasp that - IMO

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I however don't believe the universe is infinite, and feel we hardly know anything about the universe. We hardly know our own ocean let alone to say we know the universe.

If the universe is infinite, it's 100% fact that not only other life exists, but also a copy of me and you is having this same conversation somewhere far far away within the never ending space of the universe. I personally don't believe that to be true however, and no one can prove your or my own opinion to be true or false.
