Confusing Scorpio guy

So first off,I'm a Pisces girl who needs some advice on a very confusing Scorpio guy.My scorp and I have been consistent friends for about 6-8 months. When I first met him,I was with someone else but it always felt like there was something between us.He has went cold on me a couple of times but it's never for long. I started thinking maybe I was confused about how he felt so I backed off for a while. Well,he's back and it feels like it did when we first started talking. I've never talked to him about my feelings for him. If he and I end up being more than friends,I want it to come naturally. But anyway,I can't tell if he likes me or if we really are just friends.I could really use some outside opinions.The reasons it feels like something is there are as follows:I catch him staring at me out of the blue,there are even times when we hold very deep,intense eye contact (makes me go crazy! And always feels like electricity!I'm always the one who breaks eye contact), he does a lot of things for me he doesnt do for anyone else,he gets antsy if I casually bring up other guys,he gets really worked up if someone does something to me and lately,we've hanging out like we used to and he's been talking to me every day.He is comfortable with me around his family and he even tells me stuff he wouldn't tell anyone else. We finish each other's sentences 90% of the time too. The reasons I'm in doubt,he has dropped hints but he won't make a move! Why won't he say something?! I've tried being logical about this and no matter what I come up with,I just FEEL like there is something between us. I have no problem waiting and being patient,he is worth it. But,I just want to make sure I'm not falling for a guy who doesn't feel the same. Some advice would be greatly appreciated! I'd really like a male Scorpio perspective too but at this point,anything is better than nothing.

I dropped the other guy months ago! I never flirted with him until I was officially available. I'm a very loyal person.

And I won't ask him directly because I'm extremely shy! And plus,when I first started hanging out with him my best friend was into him and she hit on him and he flat out turned her down and it ruined their friendship. He's told me why he wouldn't date her and he was very critical about it. It was pretty intimidating!

Well,I just have a hard time trusting myself I guess. And like I said,he runs hot and cold. I've heard that's a Scorpio thing. Just looking for some outside opinions I guess.

Yeah,and she doesn't care because she's with someone new anyway. Obviously he'd be off limits if she didn't like it.

As a scorpio male if I stare at someone im either A)daydreaming lol or B) definitely like what I see

I definitely see a difference in him when we drink. He lets his walls down a lot,hence why he always dips before we get too tipsy lol. He's smart about it lol
