Does your mother listen to music? Perhaps you could make playlist of calming songs she'd enjoy. I'm a stressball myself, I find that shutting the world off and playing my best tunes does wonders.
That's a really good idea actually, I will try that, thanks. She did buy herself a meditation CD that she listens to in the car, she says she's enjoying that. But she won't just sit down and do nothing, that's the problem.

Hello Scorpios. So my mother is going through quite a stressful time at the moment. She has never been able to slow down psychically or mentally, but she's getting older and so its tiring her out a lot more. No matter how much stress she is feeling she has always powered through, and she has never taken kindly to people fussing over her, so she would often lie just to get people off her back. I was talking to her today and she openly said to me "I'm not doing well", for her to admit this, i know there's something wrong. She continued to tell me that it is more mental than physical, she can't shut her mind off from worrying about everything (work related). Because of this though, it is now draining her psychically as well. Her doctor has told her to meditate, but she says she can't do it, her mind won't shut off for long enough. Is this a common thing for Scorpio? If so, how do you relax and is there a way I can help her? Thanks.
Yoga and lots of exercise π

Yes! Maybe even meditating in a class, that way she has to do it haha

I wonder if she has Mercury in Scorpio, since in tends to run on overdrive.Music definitely helps, and elevates the mood, but can trigger more unpleasant thoughts. Reading helps the most, but the reading material should be light, and maybe even humorous, nothing too serious.
Maybe a George Carlin?
Sun, Moon and Mercury all in Scorpio.
She doesn't really read, but I don't know if that's just because she thinks she doesn't have time. I will mention it to her. π
I can relate to what your mum is going through, I could never meditate myself so I tried the absolute opposite: very loud music (preferably something upbeat/happy/danceable) and lots of exercise. If the yoga/calming music don't work make her try this, it really helped me.
hot baths, music, movies, reading, hiking (this sounds tiresome but it's actually very relaxing and energizing, even if she's tired)
maybe help her in the household so she can just sit back and watch some movies or read.
also too much information can be stressing (newspaper, social media, people who talk a lot..). Maybe she can take a break from this too sometimes

She needs water. Walls by the beach, hike to waterfalls, soundscape of water running.
Hmmm, that's interesting actually. We do have water near by, i might that a go. Thanks.

my head is still going 100mph when my head hits the pillow at night until I actually fall asleep.

meditation doesn't work for me because I can't sit still and get bored with it.yoga doesn't work because they move too slow and I feel like I look ridiculous (and I'm a clutz)
I do like turning the music up loud at home and dancing around the house...but only when I'm alone.
Naps are good too.
Alone time is pure solace. Does she have a chance to ever be alone? Going to the cinema alone, dinner, park, or at home alone?
I think each of our answers are going to differ a bit because I'm sure our placements make a difference.
That's her problem too, she can't sit still for long enough to relax. She needs to learn how to complete clear her mind, even if just for a couple of hours. She is rarely alone, my step dad is always at the house. Although, this last week and next week she will be alone. Maybe this will give her a chance to clear her mind, but so far not so good.
Maybe you could take her out, to somewhere she likes ? It could be a daily trip, a show, a weekend trip or just a dinner. And just be positive and don't bring up whatever is stressing her.
Or give her a gift maybe ? A perfume or just a funny cute mug ?
I'm a Scorpio Asc. and I have it too.
I think it's important to learn trying to feel and enjoy with your heart instead of with your mind.

what's her moon?air, fire, earth and water handle stress in much different ways.
I have a fire moon and if I don't *have* something to think about (nonstop) I can actually become stressed and slightly depressed.
her moon is in scorpio, and her mercury.
Such nice ideas guys, and really helpful thank you. I think I will take her out for the day, to the water and make her a chill out CD, try and get her to go to yoga. I might go with her to make her feel more confortable with going. π
