Defending and advertising "intelligent design" while mechanisms of evolution are still under investigation is a practise of undermining the scientific process which ultimately leads to this conclusion:
This kind of effort is a little tactic of small groups who try to advertise religion without having conscious and fair judgement.
Those religious groups also aknowledge that this is just an advertisment.
