i saw that thread about scorpios being like dogs and although naturally i disagree heavily with that statement, it tied in with a thread i wanted to post.

with dogs, when you first get them, you are supposed to lock eye contact and make sure that they are the first to look away. that establishes you as pack leader and them as your submissive. it's only necessary to do it once and the dog remembers his place forever.

i've just started a new job (honestly, it's related although i don't work in a kennels). i find it impossible to make eye contact with the top boss and i realise that i've always had the same difficulty with my bosses in the past. it doesn't help that my current boss looks like a boxer and is a fiery sag with eyes that burn holes in my back while i'm switching windows frantically on my computer back to worky stuff. i've spoken to him while he's been talking to my team but i just can't do the eye thing.

why?

cos i know the instant eye contact is engaged, it's a stare-off till someone's eyeballs pop out. i don't want to be the first one to look away and give him the impression that i'm scared of him but i don't want to humiliate him by making him look away first - therefore establishing me as pack leader. (in my dreams LOL).

so. this eye business. anyone else feel the power of their eyes?

blingy: you mean attempt coolness? not possible i'm afraid. any kind of swift hand movement would immediately go horribly wrong and i would knock something over. i'm not sure about stroking my chin either cos that would make me look salacious. (good word! i'm a writer don't you know?).

if i've accidentally looked at him so far, i've instantly done an emo move with my hair which probably looks a little weird.

maybe i should stick a couple of photos of eyes to the inside of my glasses?

LOL! the scorpio stare is so easy to diffuse. They seem to see if anyone will challenge them by staring back. I find it easy to diffuse this form of childishness by staring back at them but in a relaxed, almost 'amused' way...and almost always coupled with a slight smirk.

This really throws them in a loop. 'Cos they can't handle it when no one reacts to their 'stare'. I also like to give them a bored, nonchalant look. If they can't get a rise outta ya, they back down.

Try it, it's fun 🙂

ps. Never did understand why peeps seem to let scorp's reputation get to them. To associate with the theme of this thread, scorpios' barks are worse than their bites. Peeps shouldn't let their reputations precede them. They're not that difficult to take down............

If you show fear (either through your actions or your body language), they will attack. But if you treat them with a bored, almost amused disdain, they seem to respect & leave you alone. They seem to respect those who will stand up to them...but they really admire those who do so in a cool, nonchalant manner. It's like they look up to those who are unfazed by them.

it's ok. he's fine i think. i was a bit pissed off that he came to work in jeans today after making the rest of us look like we're going to a wedding! friday's are good though cos everyone goes out for a drink at lunch time and generally carry on after work. i abstained of course cos i have to drive and my kids are missing me - my cooking especially.

it's the special way i burn things.

did i say burn? i meant caramelise of course.
