Questioning where friendship stands with Scorpio Man

Hey forum so I am a Scorpio woman who had exchanged intimacy with a Scorpio man for a few days (like 2 1/2 years almost) . We remained very close friends after that, constantly texting and sending each other photos, jokes, exchanging knowledge and interacting on social etc. At points there was talks of hooking up again but not in same city and we had some hiccups (him disappearing etc) where I didnt want to get emotionally tied into that and hurt, but still wanted to be cool because i enjoy the vibes and convos we have.

Two months ago he became distant and i saw him on social doing his charm on women and figured okay he doing his thing (mind you a month prior he was trying to get me to hook up him again but i am hip to the game so i just chuckle). So i said to myself ''well alright that is why he isnt really speaking with me''. I let it be. We didnt really message but interacted occasionally on social media posts with a like or comment. Yesterday he hits me up, with a ''hey and hope i am doing okay'' text. I replied with something like ''yes just been up to xyz, and you?" and his reply back was so short and curt like ''that is great, enjoy'' (never does he even reply like that to me so short and abrupt). It almost made me feel like i've done something. Is this a mind game or some kind of test? Should I ask him if I've done something wrong based on tone? I just trying figure where friendship stands. you barely speak to me and then when you do initiate a convo, i reply and you brush me off fast. And i sent a message after that about a topic that is of interest to him and how i've gotten really into it and no reply. Any advice?

I dont want him as a FWB. We had our fun and it was great but I just want him as my friend but the way he brushed me off was so out his character that i question where friendship stands. Or what the brush off even means cause i dont recall doing anything or saying or even posting anything that could rub him wrong.

I don't get why you ladies want to be friends with dudes that are still trying to sleep with or date you. Your "friend" just dumped you after you friendzoned him.
