Religion

Who is God? And Jesus? to a Scorpio. My heart did not take to the exclusion of people and Obama hate, that resonates with self-identified religious people. I was however hooked to God through the "solving the mysteries of existence aspect" as opposed to "I have to be saved the get out of hell." The true God is not the superficial one, the kingdom of God is "here." I get a lot of millage out of studying the gospels but I think my vision is very different from the way most people read the words. I've studied hebrew a little bit, but I know that can be a vortex black hole if I'm there to justify myself. Somewhere along the line all this got jumbled in my head. What are your thoughts on religion and our creator?

Well, first I ask myself: If God had a name, what would it be? And would you call it to His face? If you were faced with Him in all His glory. What would you ask if you had just one question?

And yeah, yeah God is great.

What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us? Just a stranger on the bus trying to make His way home?

If God had a face, what would it look like? And would you want to see? If seeing meant that you would have to believe in things like heaven and in Jesus and the saints and all the prophets?

So: God is great. Yeah, yeah, God is good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Again: What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us? Just a stranger on the bus trying to make His way home?

He's trying to make His way home back up to Heaven all alone. Nobody calling on the phone except for the pope maybe in Rome.

He's the one driving the bus.

i don't believe in god as an entity...i believe in the power of the universe.....metaphysics.

i don't agree with organised religion. like karl marx said...religion is the opium of the people.

That's interesting. Is 'Yud hey van hey' from a specific religion or something? I love thinking that God has an actual name. The Jews refer to him as Yahweh. Calling God "God" is like calling a woman "She" I tend to think.

religion is man made. God never made religion itself. All He said was 'worship none before Me'. i dont believe God is restricted to a church; He is everywhere. He reserves the right to reside in a righteous man's heart. This is what I believe.

i dont have a religion, as i dont believe in the different denominations. at the end of the day, i feel all of that is just a battle of 'who's more holy'. none of us are. we all fall short from grace. therefore instead of wasting my time with titles and labels, i work on bettering myself and establishing a tighter relationship with my Father in my own way. I read His Word, and i try to apply it to all factors of my life. i may never step foot in a church, as He (Jesus) said ' "Every plant, (religious) which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up" (Matt. 15:13). "...and that there be no divisions among you". and the devil is in the pulpit nowadays; you never know who is in disguise as an agent of the Lord, bringing false messages. its easy to be mislead, thats why i follow my own mind.

your post is full of contradictions. you say religion is man made and then quote from the bible, referring to it as 'His Word'. who says it's his word? ORGANISED RELIGION

Actually the Torah is the first books of the Bible. The Koran is based off of Judaism with some Christian elements thrown into the mix. As for Karl Marx, he was the father of Communism, Fascism, and Nazism so I really don't put much faith in anything he said, including his hatred of all religion. 🙂

ok, if you want to be pedantic, islam as an organised religion was created after christianity but allah didn't pop up from nowhere and islam was a tribal practice for generations before mohammed's existence..centred around mecca.

I only have problems when people use religion as a rallying cry to kill other people. I don't care what religion it may be. You as a Jewish person should probably be aware of radical Islam's quest to rid the land of "infidels". Or, are you new to planet earth? The fact that Islam came out of Arabia with a sword should indicate to you how it effectively spread its' power over the neighboring lands. Yes, killing Christians and Jews who would not convert.

If you really want me to take the time to counter your earlier rants, I would be happy to do so but I'll have to wait till later when I get back.

my main criticism of what stinger wrote was the suggestion that karl marx invented fascism.

religion is not the same as faith. i was born a jew and yet i am not religious as in i don't attend a synagogue. i'm still a jew though.

imo, faith is an individual thing. you either have it or you don't. religion sets out the guidelines for you to practice that faith according to whichever religion you wish to subscribe to but all it actually does is cause division and conflict.

when you meet someone who has pure faith in their god, it doesn't matter what name they give their beliefs, their serenity is tangible. they don't preach to you that you should repent from sin before you're cast into an abyss...they want you to feel their peace and they want to share their joy because pure faith is just that.

perhaps the problem with the world is that there is too much religion and not enough faith.

God said He is the way. Many will try to find salvation on other paths, but they will lead to nowhere. He said it Himself.

God didn't say that he's the way ... and in the very fact that you attempt to spread that Word is your damnation because the person who said it said that he is the only way, and you are preaching to people to go against it and NOT follow that person to the right way.

Most people cannot fathom this concept, as I'm sure you've witnessed in life. The "creator god" is mentioned by Nostradomus, by Edgar Cayce ... and It has been referenced as being the bad guy, the fallen angel .. the one who is a "jealous god", and demands praise, the one who uses intimidation in an attempt to make people obey ... he is he one who created this reality, the reality which seperated our egos from our spirits, and then attempts to punish if the ego consciousness doesn't react to his tyranny.

Both of those prophets mention the Almighty God .. and they actually make that distinction, that there is a Greator God, the Almighty and a lessor god, the creator.

In essence, this creator god the christians, muslims, hebrews, buddist follow (and I write "god" in lower case because it isn't deserving of cap) ... is leading them to being tied to the earth plane, rather than ascending. There's a lot to that in which I won't get into now. Read about Gnosis is you want knowledge, lol irony

I've written about this many, many times all over the internet. People cannot reason past their original thought, so what I say is usually beyond their comprehension because it surpasses the lower brain functions, which is where people plant their conclusions.

think about this .. it is said that when the anti-christ comes that most of the people will be fooled by him, even the clergy .. even the fucking Pope. How can that be? How can the people who have dedicated their whole fucking lives to their god - fall?

because this god they pray to is the one in hell, they pray to the 'creator', and he's the one bound .. that's why this world is so fucked up. Every person who is a christian and believes in this god, even the Pope, has been fooled already .. that's how this great deception works.

what i don't get though is how people can say they believe in god and yet they don't follow a particular religion cos let's face it, if it weren't for religion, there would be no concept of god at all.
