Scorpio & Self-Sabotage

I’ve heard that we scorpios can be guilty of sabotaging our own life. Is this true? From what I’ve seen, any decision in life that goes wrong can be misconstrued as self sabotage. I don’t believe that we do this. When faced with a life-path decision, I have definitely been guilty of choosing what I perceive to be the simpler/easier route, even if the harder path may have resulted in greater rewards.

Do any scorpios or people who’ve been close to them have any examples of a scorpio purposely sabotaging a relationship or something else that could have benefited or helped them?

I watched my dad self sabotage multiple times.

Things could be going really good for him but he'd find a way to fuck it up...hit rock bottom..be there for a while...rise back up to the top...rinse repeat. 🤷

Sad but I understood the behavior.

Ugh...just realized I'm def like him except my self sabotage is relationships...he was more every aspect of his life lol. I miss that sob!

Let's see...when him and my mom where together...things were good. They got married, he was crazy about her, they had me, he had a good job, an apt etc. He started apparently to nitpick...little by little and they would get into fights then one time my mom came home, her shoe was untied. He accused her of cheating (he said if her shoe was untied that means her pants were off at one point lol) and things went down hill from there...they divorced etc. My mom still swears she never cheated on him. She was just as crazy about him as he was her. After that...he hit rock bottom, partying etc. He then picked him self back up became stable again...won custody of me and was back on top for a little while.

He still said that my mom was the love of his life and he doesn't know why he kept pushing her away like he did but it was a repeat pattern thru out...where I even witness it with others. 🤷

Short answer, yes.

But only in my late teens to early 20s.

I’m SUPER guilty of being so insecure in past relationships that i’ve accused partners of cheating over the littlest shit. Straight up playing blues clues with people 🔎.

Yeah, and I notice that if I'm doing this, it's because, from the beginning I knew that the situation was either not something I wanted, something I knew would never work, or something that went against my personal morals, but I was involved in to please other people, or meet some responsibility that I felt indentured to, but my nature just couldn't help itself. This tendency diminished as I've become more and more self-reliant and knew what I wanted out of life, and who I didn't want in it. Also from being more organized. Also fearful insecurity had a hand in it all on its own sometimes, without rhyme or reason.

Oh wow. My Scorp uncle did that to my aunt. She wasn't cheating, but he wouldn't stop accusing her, and then eventually he cheated on her to get back at her for the cheating she didn't actually do. She left. He got sober. Now he admits that it was all in his head.

I laughed so hard at the untied shoe deal. I'm like did you have any other proof?...he's like no just the shoes...you can't tell me that no one wouldnt think the same. I'm like you're dumb dad lol

Sounds very complicated and stubborn. So is my uncle. He had a bad childhood. I blame that more than his sign.

Mine did to an extent....but he realized when he turned 49 that he was the common denominator in all of his issues. I was so proud...I'm like my dad is finally growing up ...aww lol. Then he passed away...I guess that was the lesson he needed to learn 🤷

Even though me and him butted heads a lot (he could never pull his fuckery over on me and it pissed him off lol). He was the only one who got me. Sigh..

I'm sure insecurities were part of it but like I said it was a common theme in his life and not just on the relationship front.

My mom is an Aquarius lol
