It means he decides not to think for himself in situations.
He mirrors the other persons behavior. This can be useful in certain situations.
But if this is his go to without expressing his true intentions or feelings then...he's kind of fucked.
People aren't mind readers all the time and if he's mirroring he's not letting his true thoughts be known to the other person.
He's just copying their behavior to prevent being his self to keep things afloat or cordial or negative...depends on the situation.

I had a FWB with one of my exes for almost a year.
It was great until he started talking about a possible future together again. Declaring how he'd do whatever he could to make it work, that he was changed, blah blah blah...
Once I'm over someone, I'm completely done and I have no interest of ever revisiting a relationship. I don't dumpster dive.
Sex is just sex to me when I'm screwing an ex and the reason I kept screwing him is because I saw no point in going out and finding someone new to fuck when he already knew what I liked and how I liked it.
So after learning my lesson from that situation, no I wouldn't. I aint got time for feelings when I made it clear that's not what it is.
They say it's us women who catch feelings, but they couldn't be more wrong.
Men are just better at pretending like they don't care.
I actually have done this before as well but this guy has made it clear that it's not about sex and one important thing going on I didn't mention, he is going thru a trial. He says if all goes well he'd give me everything I need and wasn't out of the relationship but right now he doesn't want me to get distraught cause he says that's how he's gonna be if he losses this trial and goes to prison for the charge he's accused of. If that helps explain my mess a little better lol
In my experience.. scorpios tend to cling on to old feelings. There was someone who actually said that if "you wanted a secure future with someone", scorpio men are easy to manipulate in doing so.

The ones who I had a great connection with, and it didn't end terrible…yes, I make it my business to check in on them and make sure they are doing well. Making genuine connections is important to me, and it doesn't happen very often. So it would be hard to have to lose total contact with someone who I once considered a great friend. Now…don't get me wrong, Im not gonna die or (heavily) stalk them if we lose contact.
I'm not in love with either of the two exes i keep in contact with. There was a third, but I think he found it too hard to accept that I only wanted to be friends. I care for them, but I'm definitely not in love with any of them. I wouldn't have sex with either of them, sense I see them as a friend, not just a lover, I'm not sexually attracted to them anymore. I tend not to go backwards once I've really moved on. I really just see them as friends.
It sounds like he just really appreciates you as a person, and really honor's you guys friendship and connection. Theres a 90% chance he just wants to be just friends.
