You'll have better luck figuring out if he means it by observing whether his actions follow his words, than by gathering up generic information on his sun sign, methinks.

watch the actions and listen to the words. make sure the actions are real and not what you want him to do. wish i could offer a better advice. do you fell like everything is going ok or is there something that's holding you or him back? if there is nothing then you don't have to doubt anything. did the i love you came out of nowhere and was his initiative?
