i've read about this. apparently you can see the bright red in the summer. coo. 🙂

I was actually trying to find a better image of the region of Antares. The image included a bit more detail.
When I see Antares, it actually looked Goldish to me. Perhaps the geographical location it is viewed from
and atmospheric pollution may play a role in the perceived color variation.
