This begs the question, should the media place so much emphasis on these killings?
It is crucial to know what is happening in our time about current events. But the media seems to have a knack for keeping us especially posted on the kill count or the wouded count.
And isn't it so obvious that when one major event like this happens it leads to a string of others?
As a kid, I got into major trouble in school and I faced up to 7 years state prison for what I did. It made every headline in the New York papers for months. I even had a few minutes on national news.
But the same story happened there too. Less than a week after my incident, there were 4 more felonies committed in high schools that were of the same genre of crime. The way I see it there are two options and views that can be taken.
1. Is it more important to be kept up-to-date on current events and to know all the details?
or
2. Is the safety of the public more important than these statistics?
It's quite a controvercial topic.
