Thinking of Relocating

I went to NJ last weekend, because I am starting a Book Club and one of the members lives in Rahway NJ. While on the NJ/TP I notice a few Cancer Institutes mainly Rutgers University and Trinitas Hospital. So I was like wow they have a cancer centers here, so one of the girls says to me would you move here? and I said if I was offered a job. On Sunday while chillin before I left, I was reading the NJ Tribune I think and started checking to see what was out there.

Well I get home and my Gem picks me up to take me to work and he askes me about my trip and did I have a good time, then out of the blue he says "so would you move there" I was so surprised that he would say that, so I say "funny you should say that because yes I am thinking about looking into employment in NJ. So he says "so what we will have a LDR"? so I say "no, I would want you to come with me" so I was just looking at him and smiling so then he was like what about your family so I say what about them, then he says you don't have no problem leaving your family and I say no. So I started giving him these ideas about how he can have a business here in DC and in NJ, I was like why not just have two buinessess we both are work aholics, and if we just set a goal I don't see how we cannot pull this off. So he says well I would have to ride to NJ to check it out, and I said that's a start.

I do want to relocate and I told him that if I have to go alone I will. He said nothing.

Would a Gemini relocate for the sake of a relationship? Because the look on his face when I told him I would relocate was a look of shock, not to mention I would go without him.

You prob scared the crap out of him... & yes exactly what libra said.... Gemini's need stability..I deffinitly wouldn't push that on him, You may lose him all together. He said that because he was scared probably.. I would have done the same thing.

I am not living my life based solely on the happiness of my Gem, this is where compromising comes in. He is willing to take a look at th city is a start.

He is orginally from Florida he moved here when he got married his ex-wife is back in florda, with the kids and he is here. So it seems to me somebody had to make the decision to move here from florida.

If that is the case and if I am offered a job then this relationship will be over because I am not doing no LDR. I don't see the benefit of a LDR and I am not going to perpetrate that I can do it when I know I won't, I just don't do LDR.

I love what I do, I am just ready for a change. Like I said I am almost 47 been in DC all my life, always knew I was going to move and when I went to NJ I felt a feeling of being at peace there, and I knew then that I could live there.

I am not doing it right know I am just looking into it, send out some resumes see what happens it takes time to look for a job. If I get an offer I will take it from there. I never said this was happening right away but I want to know that if I do get offered a job which I probably will, would my gem man come with me. My son already said he was not going so I told him to make sure he has a place to stay.

I am a planner and an organizer I am not going to do anything without planning it first, and then making sure that the time is right.

I also realize there is a lot to relocating.

I know how you feel...Ive been living in atlanta all my life and would love to relocate...my job is the only thing holding me back...i think your gem would be down....just dont do anything impulsive...i think in your field you should be able to move anywhere

Yea, but I can't let my job or my relationship keep me here. If I was married it would be a different story. I'm still going to do some researh about NJ, put my resume on a website there apply for some job online, etc And keep my Gem posted as to what I am doing.

He has is own autoshop, sales and repair.

So easy to start another one up. Hell with my planing and his doing who the hell knows where we can go. All I have to do is make sure he finishes what he starts and if I am apart of it I know it will get done. 🙂

We have discussed marriage early on at the friendship stage actually.

He said he would go to the justice of the peace and I said I would want a big wedding. He has been married before I never, so I told him I wanted a big wedding he said it was to expensive I said save for it and that was the end of the conversation. 🙂 but know I am thinking of something small, so we will see it is toooooooooooo early for me to put that in my baskets of do's 🙂.

thats a great business and you can take it anywhere....i would take his advice and maybe take a ride there and see how if you both are feeling the place

Well as of know I just posted my resume on the Sun Times Tribune in NJ. So I will tell my gem that tonight.

He would not even give me space about 2 months ago, totally ignored me as if I never told him I needed some space.

Actually he been talking about going home to florida to visit and invited me to come. Kinda scary, a bit nervous but I will go, he's thinking about doing it this weekend, and next weekend which is my birthday weekend.

You know me well Roxi 🙂, When I am determined to do something NO ONE can stop me. I am ready for a change, bottom line. I am excited in the inside. Again if he does not want to go and experience something different then I guess I will have a very special friend for life 🙂.

I told my Gem that I put my resume on a Job website in NJ, he said nothing, then I said, I do want to see what will happen, you never know, and he still said nothing.

Yea I feel something big is about to happen.

My Gem has something planned as well. When we are on the phone talking he said twice after telling me something then he would say "What else do I have to tell you" so then I say what is it baby" then he says "I will talk to you about it later" he did this twice, but I have not pressured him to tell me. I guess when he is ready he will say what else he has to say.

No I am not going to pressure him, I feel what is on his mind, and I know what he is tryingto say... I am not going to take the fun out of it, I would rather wait it out.

It's like he knows what I am thinking it's not scary it's funny cuz I look at it like we are both feeling each other through karma, and it's really cool. We have this unspoken together as well, were we don't really need to talk but just being together tells it all holding hand or just laying next to each other saying absolutly nothing.

Don't be scared of change, change is good always, it's just the thought of doing something different I think is what scares people sometimes.

A lot of people are so afriad to look outside the box, they are so comfortable, and complacent with their lives and when something new comes up and they have to adjust to it it makes them a little apprehensive to think of changing.

I embrace change and when I say I am going to do something I do and it makes the people in my life a little confused, and it only because they really don't know me.

LOL No... I am guessing he is probably thinking that the possibility of it happening and how would he deal with it.

I will not speak with him about again until I get a response from the resumes I sent out.

Scorpionlady - for the right person i personally think a gem will move in a heart beat for someone. There are obstacles that could prevent that from being a quick yes or no. I was just in this spot with my Taurus. he was in Minnisota and me in Wisconsin, granted only 4 1/2 hours but he doesn't do the whole change thing very well of coarse. I would have moved with no problems, even give up my job. But he volunteered to do the move since my job is pretty bad ass.

I wouldn't have moved quickly, it would have taken me a little time, but i would have. We sometimes need to take a breather to find out how the move will affect us. Have to think about location, and what if's...

You should also try Chambord on Vanilla Bean ice Cream.. YUM to die for. My mom makes her own Chambord and splits it and makes half of it thicker like a syrup for deserts. GOOOD STUFF

You can buy Chambord at most liquior stores. Its a raspberry Liquior. Easy to make to. My mom makes all her own liquior and her home made Baileys is better then anything you can buy. SO yummy and so easy. I'd make them myself, but why when she does? lol Gotta love momma 🙂
