Why are people so narrow minded by nature?

It behooves me. Why do most people judge situations or others on the surface without looking deeper into the cause of the situation? This has caused so many problems at my work place.

When people approach me with a problem or complaining about a situation, I ask them to think about why this person said this or did that. There is usually a cause behind every action, every word. Perhaps it is mere ignorance or the person involved was simply unaware of certain facts which caused the situation.

Perception is another one I just love to watch. You may perceive something completely different that I might, therefore reacting in a totally different manner. That is why, as humans, I believe that we cannot be hasty to judge one another. We are all so unique and have our own ideas, feelings, and perceptions on each situation. Do you think that maybe we feel more secure when we judge and classify people so that we won't have to think about who they are and what they might do?

I have to watch myself with astrology and people. It is so easy to classify an Aries, Scorpio, Gemini, but then I have to remind myself that there is the rising sign factor, the moon sign, and life experiences that account for who this person really is.

When asked a question that sounds like part of an interegation, I ask:
"Why do you ask?"

When I have a situation that I am dealing with, I will present the facts to the parties involved and say:
"Do you have any thoughts on that?"
This opens up communication so that we can understand the reason for actions, reactions, and such. Any thoughts on that?? Ha Ha .

I too have asked myself these same questions...(must be an Aries thing). I have an Aquarian friend and he and I perceive words and situations so differently. He sees this as a "bad" thing and I see it as a "good" thing. We have the opportunity to learn how to accept the differences in each other. I also think that this is the biggest lesson for all of us. It is a toughie by golly...

Way to go, James! Be who you are and accept yourself unless of coarse you don't like something then you can always change it. 😉
