Why is my Scorpio man doing this?

We've been together a long time, so this is strange. He lives 120 miles from me, we see each other every weekend, or we try too. I normally drive up. He was at my place for Thanksgiving, we had a lovely day. He had to head home last night as he worked Friday. As he got closer to his home, he called me and said he didn't want me driving up there anymore cuz of the road construction (been going on for 3 years!). Then he says well give him advance notice if I am coming up? Now, he calls me. And says "the roads ate going to be icy, you better not come'. What the hell? I said well it sounds like you don't want me to come, he said no, I just worry about the drive. WTH? Since when? What should I do?

He called on his way home from dinner last night:
Him - I don't want you driving up here anymore, that 3 miles of construction. Is narrow and dangerous. I replied I've driven it many times.
Then he said 'well give me advance notice if you are coming or not'. I was shocked and did not know what to say. When he called this am, I made a joke saying 'sounded Like you don't want me to come up' he replies 'I was worried about you, I would have the same concern for my daughters'. Then he starts talking about snow coming. So tonight we are talking and he says "I guess you won't be able to come, I'm watching the weather, the roads will be bad'

I feel like something is up. Snow!? 2 to 5 inches? I'm from Michigan, that bitty amount would not make the news even!

52, god I sound like an idiot. I am just confused, I've never encountered this situation. I married young, my husband died 4 years ago, it took a while to grieve, so I am new to the dating world again, and I thought why not check into this aspect of a man.
