Taurus guyfriend (he's an ex-college bf) as a new gf. Been with her since Feb of this year.

I went to confirm our lunch appt he declined and canceled. Said she wouldn't like it if we hung out, even though he and I have been friends for so long. I asked if communication remains open. He said she wouldn't like us talking either.

Is that loyalty on his part what? He was cordial about it but seemed more for her benefit.

I would have offered for all of us to go, including her, but based on the vibe I got from him, I didn't think she'd go for it.

sadly. .you're correct. Most of us aren't until are are forced to be. Then we're all butthurt that it didn't work out as we thought. Lol

We just don't see the big deal about being friends with an ex. Unless it ended on bad terms. That said, I don't really hang out with my exes like that any way.

Agreed. I dont keep in contact with very many at all. He was my college bf..on and off for like 3 years.

Didn't think it was a big deal at all. Apparently she does. I respect that.

You both have an "on and off" romance. That's the problem. I believe true friendships should be just platonic once you split with an ex, but too many people still like to "dabble" with each other. He has done the best thing!!!

Too many people hold on to relationships with exes not because they really desire to be friends but to keep them as an option to revisit later. That's not a friendship.

This guy the OP referenced sounds like a typical Taurus. We don't like conflict so this makes total sense to me.
