Thanks for the advice! Thankfully I've been blessed with the virtue of patience so waiting to develop our friendship is doable. I guess I'm wondering how to tell if her mannerisms are leaning towards "friends" or "more than just friends". I'm a bit socially awkward sometimes and haven't had too many close relationships, even with friends. I'm finding it difficult to read her...click to expand

Hi All, I've been reading this board for a while--I've got a little situation and thought this may be a good place for advice:
Basically, I've developed a crush on my friend and co-worker and I can't tell if the feelings are mutual. We're both single--she's a taurus and I'm a virgo. She joined the company about a year ago. She was slow to open up--a lot of folks thought she was stuffy cause she wouldn't join in any staff activities and such. I knew there was more than meets the eye and felt an almost instant connection with her. Although it took her a while to come around, bit by bit, she opened up more and more to me and two other coworkers. We've all become friends, eat lunch together, and occasionally do things outside of work together.
At some point a few months ago I started to feel an attraction to her--she's sexy, down to earth, very intelligent, always smells delicious, and she's got the most wicked sense of humour. Sometimes it feels as though we're on a different wavelength than everyone else, ie we'll just look at eachother and laugh. When we're in a group setting, we'll make a lot of eye contact. Around the office, we make eye contact from across the room. At events when there's large groups of people, I've sensed her watching me, turned around and there she is off the distance staring at me! It's confusing--I don't know if she's looking because I'm looking or whether there's a mutual attraction.
Sometimes, she'll make physical contact with me in a strange way. We were standing beside each other at an event once and she bumped into me quite casually and I felt her hand brush up against my leg. I liked it, of course, but again I'm wondering if she's flirting or if I'm over reacting. One time at a staff appreciation party, we were seated having some drinks. A seat opened up next to me and she took it. We were sitting next to eachother but in separate conversations. I had had a few drinks so I can't remember how but at some point, our legs were completely pressed against each others. Not momentarily but for like 20 seconds. The whole time I was definitely cognizant of this (and I rather enjoyed it) but carried on with my own convo and she hers. I didn't say anything about that the next morning, we just commented on how drunk we were and how silly everyone else had been.
