"In love and relationship, there is an earthy kind of possessiveness that may be considered jealousy by some, but there is actually quite a difference between being possessive and being jealous. Taurus natives are rarely jealous and petty. They do, however, think of the people they love as theirs--it adds to their sense of security." - from a site

bit confused. what is difference between the two? can taureans help explain how the above relates to them and what triggers these emotions in them?

Jealous can mean a lot of things. You can be jealous of another's sucsess, possessions, professions, girlfriends, wives. That's what we are not.

Possesive is something else. It's just knowing that you're mine. If I'm gonna love you, I need to know that you know that you're mine. Realize that whereever you go and whatever you do, in the end you'll always come right back to me. That's where you have it best. You're loved unconditionally, cared for and accepted the way you truly are. And if someone messes with you, I'll always be there to watch your back if you want me to, because you're mine. I wouldn't let someone come into my house, break my favorite glass on purpose and let them leave. It's the same with people. That's my kind of "possesive".

For example, I wouldn't mind my lover spending his time with other females or people one bit. I don't really like being with someone 24/7 either, or anything too clingy and dependant. I have other people in my life to attend to, and you should too. We are people, that's what we doo, interact with other people in different ways to progress in life. Plus, I can sense when a person is being harmlessly flirty or friendly (because I am too), and when they are lying in my face.

I could not have worded this any better Torro...perfectly done...especially the take on "possessiveness"...that's how I am...if you are mine I have your back and aint NOBODY messing with my people!

I don't do jealousy...if I know my man is with me then he's with me and I trust him until the trust is broken.

Sounds amazing and spot on too.
I was right there with you until the part where you don't mind your lover spending time with other people (just hang out).
In my case the taurus wants to sleep with other people too, but it's just 'sex things my partner won't do, I find somewhere else' and he'll always come home. I find it very hard to rhyme that with this possessiveness/jealousy that sounds typical Taurus. He says he doesn't mind if his partner sleeps around, as long as he's with him at the end of the day. Why would you want to share your most prized possession with others? Or expect someone to share you with others without becoming jealous?

I've learned a lot from you two so far Torro & TaureanAries, so any idea what's going

Hey Torro, yeah I know you meant just having a life outside the relationship, normal social & professional interaction with people.

We never got to that point but now he's opening up this other side to me now and I was shocked.
He literally explained it to me like that.
He wants to have sex with other people because the partner he'll be with, will never do everything he wants to do. He'll have sex with them and come home at the end of the day.

I'm a Pisces dear, my heart broke at the idea of having to share or seeing sex as something that casual and unattached. I'm trying to understand him and I can for the most part. I just don't see how anyone could live like this as a couple. How can you do this 'open relationship' thing, where both sleep around with others but at the end of the day you're in the same bed again. We're trying to put a square into a round opening here, I cannot understand it. There's like a blockage that says 'fuck this, I refuse to process or change my idea of this'.

Sure sex can be emotionless for some, just a lump of meat/ a hole to pork and nothing more. Teach me the mindset, what am I missing to understand this? Every time I cannot help but think 'someone is bound to fall for someone else or jealousy will come into play'. The taurus wants sexual freedom and a partner that understands he can't satisfy every need, but reverse the roles here. Would you like it if your partner did that to you? I asked him this and he got silent. Something I love about you guys is your 'claiming of the other', you're MINE and MINE ALONE. That gives me a great sense of security and love strangely, but this just flies in the face of it all.

Just don't get it.
