I really dont understand the rush some people have to be married. I'm not hating on those that do but its just not for me. I was in a relationship for 10 years and went it came to an end i was glad i could just walk away without all the mess of divorce courts...yeah i could have made out with half his stuff but to be honest everything was mine anyway..lol! Since i've been on the dating scene the marriage topic has come up a lot but i've had to make it clear to a few guys that yes i work hard, yes i can cook my ass off, yes i keep a clean home, yes i look good and yes i can be a real freak in the bed but that doesn't mean I want to be tied to your ass...seeing that same face every morning/noon/night. I like my independence and i know marriage doesn't stop that but I do believe it hinders you to some degree because greater expectations are then placed on one another. People act like if your not married, somethings wrong with you...well there's nothing wrong with me apart from loving myself more than someone else...is that a bad thing? Some people may say that's because i have not found the right one but to be honest i'm not looking for the one but if he finds me, he'll quickly learn that marriage is not top of my list of things to do! I just dont see the need for the whole marriage thing unless you are looking for an excuse to have a real big party and show off to all your friends! Is that a taurus thing or am i really that cold hearted? lol

then again it's stupid to be with someone for 17 years or so and then get married...
for what? you been together damn near two decades and now you've decided that you're going to be together forever... thats just and example.

it's complicated i guess. it all comes down to the individual. whether they love each other enough to take the risk of possibly having a divorce one day. some are idealistic and say hey, let's get married and try to make it work. let's beat the statistics, and some of them do. while others are more practical and thats okay too. it's about preference. if i were with someone for about four years or so, i'd probably be ready to get married, though i am glad i didnt marry my ex! LOL see, it's a catch 22
