Some ol' story, hearing this from women almost makes me want to pull my hair out, same sorry excuse different women.

"We have had many calls, emails and texts since reconnecting during which the unthinkable has happened and I have developed romantic feelings for him."

Isn't ironic you didn't want him when he made a move on you (when he was 100% available) but not that he's all tied up you want him...Are you a commitmentphobe? Or have attachment issues? Just wondering.

"Now as much as it might seem like he is playing me (and gosh I have thought about it myself a time or two) I know this is real. "

I don't believe he's playing you, seems like an okay guy, just have poor taste/judgement in women.

Find an available man and then tell us it's real...I think this is all filled with magical thinking and fantasy.
