Hmmm...I just *smh * Here is my gripe about the entire situation (attempting not to use profane language ... too much). Why the f@ck did he even go out of the way to ask you out, when he was going to do this? It makes absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL! It would be different if you had been angling for it; or asked HIM out, but HE IS THE ONE WHO DID THE ASKING. HE is the one who came up with the smooth shiznit of (paraphrasing), "I've been watching you for almost 20 years, and I want to take you out, and put all the cards on the table." Here's my thing, perhaps he felt he got ahead of himself, or got cold feet, but honestly, he should have just manned up and gone on the date. You wouldn't have been mad at him if after a date or two, you two weren't "feeling each other." But for him to go through all of this fanfare B.S, and then just --- POOF. Sorry, I just don't think you deserved that, not that you have/are losing any sleep over it - as well you shouldn't be. His loss. And to think, you would have cooked PERSONALLY for his a $ $ .

I just read all of these and this guys sounds really terrible. I wouldn't give him another chance. I don't think he's confused, or busy he's just rude and insensitive. This has happened to me before. Twice a guy (Sag) set up a date and I waited dutifully for him to turn up. As the minutes, then hours ticked by, I sat there feeling so upset and went and binged on ice cream (not recommended). He apologised, but gave no excuse, so he set up another date and did it again. That time he texted me at 11:30pm after I had waited at my house for him to come for dinner (that I cooked) since 6:30pm that he had decided to go to dinner at a mutual friend's house instead. I just sat there with the cold food and cried, mainly cause I had given him another chance.

You know, I heard somewhere that when someone shows you who they are, believe them.
