Taurus Insight

So I tried to get some clairification from my taurus as to where we stand.
I thought it would cute to ask him to be my boyfriend on a napkin at starbucks.
I said check a box... and one box said yes, the other hell yes.
After I gave it to him.. his response was your a lunatic.
I asked. Did you check a box. He said "oh you wanted an answer. I said yes I did"
He said is there a third box that says Yes, If I had time.

We contiued our night and fun, even breakfast in the morning together.
Even had me text him when I got home.
I don't know what sense to make out of all of it.
Please help....

Well there is more to the story. After he left town and had a layover in Houston.
Everything still felt very unsettled with me. So I texted him to see how he was. He responded.
I am sure you all will think this is a bad move.. and maybe it was.
But I asked him... Are we good?
He replied "I don't understand". I said us seeing each other..
Then he started with.. "I wish I had the time but I just don't. I am concentrating on my career.". I told him.. I know you have alot going on but I want to know it's just you and me. He said " I dont have time or energy to give to anyone".
I said I am willing to be paticent and wait for you, because you are worth it to me.
He told me I was a valued friend, and he doesn't have many in his life. But all he could offer was friendship.
I tried calling because I thought this is a conversation we should have "not texting". He wouldn't answer the phone.
The told me he was in the food court and couldn't hear.
So after all the bloodshed... I cried and drove myself home, to cry some more.
A little after that he texted a mutual friend of ours and told her, "I broke her heart, please take care of her"
Really—? I am 39 and he is 41 years old. That is Junior High.
Then on Saturday....My taurus texted me to say hello and see how I was doing... Again I Say REALLY—?
I responded polietly.
I can't make heads or tails of the whole situation.
Insight.. and please don't be too harsh.. I am still scraping myself back together.

Well always interesting in the world of taurus.
Yesterday my Boss had a conferernce call and my Taurus was on it. He asked my boss how I was doing...
REALLY?
1. We are not in High School.
2. It was inappoproiate

This morning I got a text message from my Taurus saying good Morning and wanted to see how I am doing...?
I told him OK, and thanks for the hello. Please someone explain that to me..
Is it Guilt? Caring..?

He told me he only wanted to be friends, and that only happened last week. I have thought of nothing but him for the past 3 yrs. That doesnt' just go away.I am still trying to acclamate to all of this.

LMAO!!! QFT. Well from my personal experiences haha. But I do kind of like that cancer/pisces grip, so long as it's not TOO tight lol

And aww!! Had someone asked me out like that, I would've put a third box saying "Hell no. I want you to be my life partner". It's my damn Venus in Cancer that loves cheesy love haha

He is still continuing to contacting making sure I am ok with us being friends.
I really don't know what to make of it.
We do have some ties of working together, not the same office. I told him I would be professional.
Don't know if I can just be friends with him??

Thanks.. I have not been contacting him. He has been contacting me and keeps making sure everything is ok.
All this jus happened. I did respond and told him I am doing my best to digest it. He kept telling me I am the only person he trusts.
Trust me.. I will not be the one contacting him.
I am already making plans to go out and have fun with friends. And when he contacted me today, I didn't even get the same butterflies I used to.
What are his intentions?
