taurus man and 'bad timing'

I was dating a taurus guy for about 3 months. Last time we saw each other we had the most romantic night. We ended up swimming in the ocean, went hand in hand and spent the rest of the night cuddling and kissing on the beach. He totally ignored me after that night. I check on him and he was 'busy'. I let him have his time and now out of the sudden he texted after 3 weeks that under the current circumstances he is not able to be in a relationship or anything serious and the timing is bad as he is too busy and he is sorry. I texted back I appreciate his honesty and wished him good luck. What is going through his head, any ideas? Why do they do this 'bad timing' break up? I was giving him all the time he needed.

Thats a person thing, not a Taurus thing. So to ask why they do this..eeehh... I dunno why he did that.

Why did he assume that YOU wanted a relationship? That's rather presumptuous IMO unless you told him that is what you were looking for.

At a guess? Possibly an old flame came back into his life?

That is weird cause I didn't even talk about relationship or anything serious. I did like the time we spent together and wanted to just see each other and see how we go. I want a relationship in general but never pressured him for anything. I have the feeling he may of thought about that and got cold feet. Or still have unresolved issues with an ex. What surprise me is that this happened after the most romantic night we spent. Normally guys will be standing in front of my door the day after night like that but not this one, he pulled away.
