If he's 'decades' older then that's at least 20 years minimum so you're 19 and he's 40 plus.

It sounds like you're reading into nothing or certainly nothing that is concrete and the reality is that what you are both looking for doesn't match. That's not to say a 20 year plus age gap couldn't work but the timings in your life are not particularly compatible.

I wouldn't read into it. I'd just go with the flow and be friendly and keep personal and business separate.

Harmless banter and wind ups are great. I'm 35 and wind up a work colleague who is 52. I like him, like working with him, there's nothing more, we just get on well. I'm also currently winding up a 23 year old physiotherapist just because I can as I have a 12 year advantage over him.

Just don't play with him too much. Other than that, dedpite the story length, there's nothing much to the story.
