He told me that he's stressed right now.. home issues. My questions are...
1. Is it best to give him space so that he can clear his head?
2. Do I still continue to send word of encouragement and support?

He did say that he's known me forever. .that there wasn't anything that I could do to help alleviate the stress other than to keep being there for him. He also said that he loved me and to never change.

Thx.

Yesterday was an odd day. Told me he loved me about 4 times. Thst he agrees that we are slowly turning a corner in our friendship. . . Today..disappeared. .. odd to me.

Normal?

Don't worry, he is just so stressed, give him the space and let him face his problems. Don't encourage him to talk about his problems. You just need to be there for him, to cheer him up, change the subject to something funny if you feel he is ready for it and simply while he start to be relax you may tell him "I am so proud of you, you are always strong enough to overcome any obsticle without any help, and I am sure that you will get over this as well. I love you"
This will make a diffrence.
Good luck

I do all of those things already senior..:-)
You mentioned without help. .what kind of help do you mean? I encourage him and make him laugh by cracking jokes and try to keep him in positive spirits.

I do tell him how proud I am of him and that I do brag about him because he's turned his life around so quickly and so far away from where he was 8 years ago.

So, the best thing is to just wait for him to get in touch again?

Cappy lady here! Like everyone has suggested, I would give him his space and let him reach out to you since you when he is ready. If you don't hear from him in a week or so, I don't see anything wrong with checking on him but I wouldn't keep sending him messages all of the time if he clearly needs to focus on his situation at hand. Don't stress and keep yourself busy also.
