Your ruling planet shapes core personality traits and behaviors. For example, Venus influences love and harmony, but its expression varies among signs. Recognizing how planetary energies manifest helps clarify personal strengths and challenges, especially when they seem contradictory to your sign's typical qualities. This understanding can improve self-awareness and relationship dynamics.

I've tried to convince myself that Venus is practical, stable, strong, and grounded enough to govern
*The Zodiacs's Physical Fixed Earth Sign of Taurus*
but the contradictions are are ultimately offensive and disappointing
I'm not a Taurus, but pretty much all Taureans I know honestly aren't motivated or consumed by "affection", "harmony", "balance", "art" or "beauty". See the above Taurus/Earth/2nd house keywords for what they're really like.
I don't know why nobody has questioned this much before.. Maybe because Taureans just don't care enough (venus and libra care though)?
It's just not fair that my Taurus gf looks at her ruling planet Venus and she feels disappointed, small, passive, disheartened... while I get to read about my planet Pluto and feel plenty of respect and inspiration.
She resonates with all the qualities that planet Earth embodies, but nearly none of Venus's traits.
also, I feel this way about Virgo and Mercury. I think Virgo deserves the credit and respect that Vulcan brings. It just looks silly with Mercury as it's ruler.
