air travel deals

have to book some CHEAP airline tickets for december's festivities. what are the best sites to check? have looked at expedia, orbitz, priceline, etc.. all way too high. is there some trick to getting great deals? do prices go through cycles of higher and lower? i hope so! it's been a few years since i've traveled by air across the country. prices seem double now!

thanks archer! have yet to try ebrookers, but will. early this morning i was just a click away from purchasing tickets for under 375, and got thrown off line. am hoping, rather trusting, that the disconnect was for my benefit (on a spiritual level!), rather than just bad luck.
