Je peux parler a francais un peu, mais je le peux compendre et lire.
I think it roughly translates to:
"I can speak french a little, but I can comprehend and read it.
I took French for five years and I'm still working on becoming fluent.
I used to live in Germany so I have a general idea of german, but, I've forgotten most of it. I have family in Germany, so I'm making them teach me for future purposes. I was back there in the winter and I could say a phrase every now and then like when I went shopping.
I've been to the Czech Republic too, but it was years ago. Back when it was still Czechoslovakia. It's beautiful!
I also meant to add that languages are something I'm really passionate about, and I'm trying to become fluent in french and german as well as hebrew, but it's going to take a lot of time (which I don't seem to have lol. Thank God for Rosetta stone).

Oh that sounds so pretty. I'm sure it's spoken really beautiful as well. Afterall, who doesn't love French? It is one of the five 'Romance Languages'...
Never been to Germany. Hope to travel there someday. When I went to Spain, all of the Spanish words/phrases that I learned in my remedial Spanish classes in high school as well as my Spanish general education classes that I took in college suddenly came back to me and it honestly made a world of difference in how I was able to communicate on just a very basic level with the locals and that helped to make things alot easier for me. I could walk into restaurants and order food and find my way around town without a problem. This was the trip that made me realize that the mandatory foreign language courses is to a great benefit of the student because when you are in the class complaining "why do I have to take this, I'll never need it", you'll be surprised at how the information that was deposited will regurgitate at a time when you need it most.

I heard Rosetta Stone is great. Can't wait to go to Prague. I heard the Potato soup is really good.
Too cool...jealous of your trip 😢

Hey you!
It's a mini vacation and I'm gonna be there for x-mas so that means no gifts for the family...nieces and nephews included. lol. I'm converting the U.S. dollar so I'm definitely going to get more bang for my buck in the Republic so I'll make it up to them with souvenirs.

Donde est?? la llave?I never used this myself, but I learned it before going to spain. It means "where's the key?" I never lost my hotel key on that trip tho, oddly enough.
Hi TG,
What part(s) of Spain did you visit? I went to Madrid & Toledo. I hope to go back and stay in Barcelona.
Posted by TG
You can also say "He perdido mi llave" wich means "I lost my key".
Losing a hotel key would be the pitts.
TG,

I went to Barcelona. I had a great time and I also want to go back and stay there forever. Unfortunatelly have a life over here, so can't do that.
I want to go to central spain next time, I heard it's very beautiful and authentic, not meny tourists, infact might just hide this post to not give people any ideas. Hopefully will get paralized o something there so I won't be able to leave. I want to live in the desert, but I could see myself living in any part of Spain really. 🙂
Very nice. Heard it's a pretty big city.
I know what you mean about living there. I actually felt quite at ease and comfortable. My hotel was situated in a working class neighborhood and it was nice to see all of the salmon and all of the other bright colored buildings. I did a combination trip and went there directly after spending a few days in Paris. When I got off the plane, I was so intrigued to be surrounded by a culture of people who had darker hair, eyes and skin.

Anywho, I'm learning Italian currently as part of my college edu-ma-cation. I'm planning on tackling Japanese next. I think learning more than one language is very important these days, especially here in the US with so many different people.
I'm pretty sure I messed it up but hopefully somebody will come in here and NOT correct me. LOL.
Oh a Cappy eh? I love Cappies. My sis is a Cappy. I was just telling my Scorpio mum the other day that I really like her Cappy daughter. She's like my bestest friend. Cap women are just chill. No drama.

Yeah, the buildings, the people, everything is so exotic. It's not just a flashy tourist city at all, it feels prettu authentic still. They people over there seem to have alot of style , I thought they were really cool actually. Everything about Barcelona is so damn tasteful and esthetically beautiful. That guy Gaudi, he sure dis know how to draw buildings. We went to see those houses, I forgot theirnames, I think they were called Casa Mil?? and Familia something something... and were stunned! The shapes, the details, what a work! And the whole city feels kind of gothic-like somehow. I was also very intrigued tbh. It was beautiful.

Yes, yes. You hit the nail on the head as "authenticity" is the word that first comes to mind when I think of that place. They're not a pretentious folk. I'm thinking maybe that's why I like it...and you? We're earth signs so we identify. Caps and Virgos are not the pretentious type in the least. Bulls either. I think traveling helps you to find yourself in many ways if that makes any sense. Almost like you find your region or regions. Your people. Your style . Your flavor...ok, I'm rambling now. LOL.
The buildings are absolutely beautiful. Something very down home and rustic ab

Haha, Yep, we're pretty chill. 🙂You know what tho, I became friends with a virgo girl recently, and turns she's pure bliss. The wierd part is that when I first met her I thought "She's probably a virgo". She's overly ambitious, anxious and 100% focused on the work. I LOVE working with people like that!! 🙂
That's cool. You know Michelle Obama is a Capricorn right? Love that woman.
Oh now you caps would know a thing or two about ambition. I worked with a cap dude and lemme tell ya that brotha was so ambitious it was ridiculous. HAHAHAHA. I mean his work ethic was SICK. I would put on a suit and he would put on two. I would see one client and he would see five. He was competing with me obviously but it was still kind of fun because he was so friendly and there's nothing like 'friendly competition'. Sometimes we inspire a friendly competition in others and it helps to keep us all in the game. My sister is the same way. You Caps know how to climb that's for sure. She's got three children, goes to school at night part time and has a full-time job. We made her get rid of her second job (yes, her second job!) because she was sure nuff headed for a good ole 'crash & burn'. What gives Cap sis?

Haha, I've never been to Italy but I'll probably plan a trip within the next year or so. It's a pretty straight-forward language. There is a bit of inflection, emphasis on vowels and changing the ending of words to fit the subject of sentences(which can be nerve-wracking sometimes)
I almost forgot to mention. There's a site called SharedTalk(which is some sort of free Rosetta Stone affiliate). It allows you to talk to people from around the world and make language exchanges(you can speak to them to give them the gist of conversational English and of course they'll help you with their native language). There are text chat and voice chat features. It's pretty awesome and very helpful.

Wow, Candeh you were born in Turkey? Where?
My mother is half Turkish (half Russian) but was born and raised in Turkey.
I visit the Turkish riviera almost every summer. The weather is just awesome!
I was born in Adana, but I lived in Ankara for a year before we moved back to the states and went to live in Germany.
That's kind of how I am with Germany. I don't visit every summer, but now that I have family over there, we try to visit. I'm actually going back this spring! I'd love to visit Turkey though. I don't have much memory of it besides the pictures I have.

I was back in the winter because I have family living in Weiden. By family, I mean my brother and his wife (my sister in law who is 100% german). They live in Bamberg now but her mother is still in Weiden. I'm going back in spring because they'll be having a baby! Where in Germany do you live, CM?

Yes, I will be there for a few days during this Christmas Holiday and I'm very excited. I don't have any tours yet booked but I will definitely do a "Prague at Night" a "Ghost Tour" and visit the home of Franz Kafka. I'm prepared to take many pics, eat lots of soup and explore, explore, explore.
It's wonderful that you speak these languages. Ancient Greek? Sweet. I find the German language to be extremely fascinating. When will you return to Prague?
Sometimes. LMFAO!! I don't lie.

Hey ADL!
Why doesn't it surprise me that you can speak a number of languages fluently? That's wonderful. Seems like you've had alot of training.
I agree with you that we should all speak at least two languages. When I was in Paris I was stunned at the fact that most of the people there spoke at least a minimum of three languages. When I took a tour around the city, we were given the option to listen to the tour guide city info in at least 10 different languages. I was truly amazed. Here in America, we usually only have two choices; english or spanish. Sometimes it's no wonder the French snoot their noses down at Americans. lol.

ADL,
Italy is just amazing. I suggest if you go, yes, please do Venice, Florence, Rome (not necessarily in that order). In my opinion, those are the best three cities for any person who's never been, to explore. Tuscany is absolutely gorgeous as well. I was all over the place. Barely ate food. Consumed gelato most of the time...it's addictive! lol

fellow Virgos (and friends) are you learning or have learned any languages besides your primary? Do you speak fluently? Other than English, I'm pretty ok with Spanish and I always try to learn common words/phrases whenever I take an international trip.
