The trick to banishing any dark image from the soul is to replace it with light Q-bone. For myself, you must recognize a damaging or unwanted thought or feeling right away and replace it with something positive. Our brains only do what we tell them to.
Of the three you bring up, guilt is the hardest to bannish for me. So to make my life a tad happier, I behave in a way I feel is noble enough to keep me from that feeling. There will always be others who will dump these anxieties, doubts and fears on you, but as Shakespear said. "Know Thyself". If you know dark thoughts may lead you down other avenues
that don't have positive results, purposely steer away. I do with art, writing, playing guitar, reading and watching something funny. (If you can watch that ditzy blond on "Friends" and NOT laugh it's beyond me. 😉

It's also important to be balanced. We all have those feelings, and we wouldn't be mentally healthy if they didn't exist. But not having a healthy balance is where the danger of letting them consume you comes in. Circumstances can be so devestating to different people, that negative emotions/thoughts swallow up anything else around them. It's important to have a trust-worthy caring friend/partner to bounce thoughts off of too.
