Nick Carraway In The Great Gatsby (Book not movie)

At the moment in the Plaza where Jay and Tom have their run in. Nick announces that the day is his birthday and he turns 30.

Do you think he is a Virgo?

In the book it is the end of summer.

In the US summer ends on Labor Day which is the first monday in September.

" Starts in the summer of 1922."

"As the summer progresses, Nick eventually receives an invitation to one of Gatsby's parties."

Love this book, personally one of my favorites. Nick may actually be a June/July baby.

But yes the hotel part was towards the end of summer. I never felt he was virgoish, Gatsby yes, Nick felt more cancer to me.

Gatsby always felt Cancer-ish to me. Nick announces at the scene in the Plaza Hotel that he just turned 30. This is just before Myrtle is killed.

Nick Could not be a June / July baby.

^^ ya ya I was basing that off it being th start of summer then remembered the hotel event took place near end of summer.. Like Labor Day I think. So Nick for sure is not cancer lol.

Actually I just finished an audio book for my ride to and from work.

BTW F. Scott Fitzgerald was a Virgo Libra Cusp.

It's been a LONG time since I've read that book. Love the time period, but not a great fan of the characters. Daisy wasn't the nicest person and I remember wondering why Gatsby held such great love for her. I couldn't understand the draw she had on him.

Ha! I think it's both, personally this is one of my favorite books but I recall when we read this in school, most did not enjoy it.

I am also a book worm, so anything about books draws this girl in 😉

She was a mystery he couldn't figure out plus he couldn't have her... but yes she was not nice.

Actually anyone who liked in high school I'd have to look at them weird. I read it some time afterwards and said 'wait a minute. These people are eff'd.' And got caught on the prose.

The thing as I can tell is that Gatsby may have been more hooked on Daisy's Parent's Home than on Daisy. It seems he wanted something they had and he wanted to be apart of it.

So Daisy was an ends to a means. Gatsby flaw one.

The truth is they were all very unhappy people inspite of their wealth. For all the parties nobody seemd to enjoy a one.
