Posted by BlackMambaWell... I suppose that's one way to handle anxiety. 😄 I tend to be a little distant coming out the gate early on in a relationship but it's not too bad. Waiting for a date to show up is where I'll get extremely quiet. Suspense + stress = numb distance required. And why do people tend to eat on dates so much? I'm too nervous to eat and then if your date buys you food, you look like an asshole when you barely touch the food. My stomach is doing somersaults, are we sure this is the best time to be eating?
Relationship make me anxious. I used to throw up everytime cap ex wanted to talk! I thought he was dumping me.
I dumped him instead

I'm curious because my response has changed so much over time. As a little kid, I had panic attacks and nightmares. If there wasn't much warning, I could walk right in. But anything I knew about well in advance, I was prone to bolting. I moved a lot and new schools, I often slipped out of the school and found a tree to hide in. When people started watching me because I had done this a number of times, I typically vomited. It's the suspense. I hate it.
As an adult, I've learned not to over think it. Once a decision has been made, I stop thinking about it. Give myself distance. If I'm anything but detached, I know I wouldn't go through with it. Once the suspense is over, I feel a thousand times better.
How do other Virgo's deal with this sort of thing?
