Virgo Ascendant

I thought the ascendant was the balance between your sun and moon sign. I thought i was a scorpio ascendant but it turns out im a virgo. virgo sun as well. confused lol what does the ascendant have to do with your chart if your sun sign is the same?

I just learned this so... your ascendant is your masked or guarded reaction to a sitiuation.
So if your ascendant was scorpio then you might show or flash scorpio like traits, until you show your true core trait which is virgo. cafeastrology.com goes more into detail about it tho..
