that my website needs to have Flash and dhtml to make it look better. And he also told me that he can't read the rainbow letters on a black background. And he also said that bright lettering on a dark background does not look good, and it's not contrasting enough. Anyone agree with him? And what the hell is dhtml? And how do I put Flash on my site? These are things I'm totally unfamiliar with. I'm upset, I spent so many hours working on my site and apparently, it's ugly. lol.

well.... there's artistry and there's practicality

I'm an artist, I'm rarely practical.

One of the most important pieces advice given to me about designing web pages is that dark backgrounds are a no-no for beginners... try a medium color (i use blue, not too dark, not too light) with light letters (i use white and yellow).

It's all about the ballance between being practical with colors and design and being artistic with it. It takes a lot of experimentation.

I know nothing about dhtml and flash though, and I'm still trying to understand the nature of javascript
