Anyone have any advice on what program or whatever to use for a beginner who knows next to nothing about this stuff as far as building a webpage (i.e., the easier and the cheaper, the better)?
Any opinions on Microsoft FrontPage as a biz site?
MOST ISP dont like FRONTPAGE - to many hackable vuneralbitlities
BECAUSE IT IS the worst we building program in the world, a simple 3k text website comes out as about 50 to 100k because of all the extensions and everything else.
Get Dreamweaver 🙂 and a book on HTML, then a book on ASP. Oh and photoshop comes in handy 🙂 along with Jasc Paint Shop Pro and Ulead products.. all in all, stay away from MS Frontpage 🙂 heh We support Frontpage, but it is not installed by default - you must request it. ~ Dave http://www.webadvance.com.au
Hey thank you! Yes, I've heard good things about Dreamweaver...will be mentioning all of these suggestions to my business partner as she has taken over web building responsibilities (thank God). lol. : )
WELL FIRST OF ALL! If you're going to start your own website you need an ftp to organize all your files(this is where notepad comes in) and all that hoopla. You can dl it anywhere, I use WS_Ftp Pro 8.
You need find a host or buy a domain. (But since you're fairly new to the html world you can just use geocities for starters and then gradually move on from there. But warning, I HATE geocities, angelfire, tripod, cjb.net, ETC.) And photoshop is mighty handy for layout designing 🙂 You can also download brushes to accentuate your layout. If you have any questions on anything ask ME..
That whole wanting to start a business thing was pretty fleeting though, and my interest in it waned a couple years ago. However, if the urge hits again at any time in the future, I will know who to talk to! 🙂
As wary mail carriers in the Midwest returned to their routes Monday, an FBI official told NBC News that investigators are operating on the theory that one person is responsible for planting 15 pipe bombs in residential mailboxes.<BR> <BR> http://www.msnb
