I'm new here and I love writing so I decided to post a poem like I noticed a few people have done. And if you don't want to start a whole other thread for your own poetry, feel free to post it here and leave comments on other's work.

Title: Just before evening.

Delicate creatures broadly stroke
The canvas of Heaven and field
While evening blends its darkened hues
Into the softening embers
Of afternoon's fuscia, gold, and scarlet

The Weeping Willows rest their sorrow
As the Oaks reamain sleepless guardians
Protecting stream and meadow

Blossoming night enfolds her comfort
Along with her frightful shadows
And the day subsides
~~~~
Not my best work. Just a hirried piece.
That was very nice, I like that.
I sooo wish I COULD contribute here, but I have had serious, serious writer's block for the last few months. I feel like I have tons to write but can't find the words, or some weird cosmic force is holding me back. The other week, I literally opened one of my journals (I have like five! lol) and Stared At The Page. Just sat there staring at it, knowing I had all kinds of "stuff" inside, somewhere...but no way to Say it. And I got really pissed off and slammed it shut and put it back where it was. Grrr...But you should keep writing; you have obvious talent.
You're welcome.
Just keep at it - as long as you don't get frustrated with yourself (like I get with myself), that's the key. I have to be calm in order to write well. I have to have perspective on what I'm writing about. I write great angry letters (that never get sent, of course) when I'm mad, but poetry I can only do when I'm peaceful. And then of course, I have to be inspired, and I have to be not completely tired from working, and so on. But I always feel better when I've actually done it.
Anyway, that really was very good, keep at it.
