The poverty stricken youth are already deemed hopeless out the womb,instead of feeding them knowledge,wisdom,and hope,we just turn our back and ignore the problem,its easier to build and over populate more prisons They were supposed to be the teachers and leaders of the future,but the concrete walls now block that vision
They told them to pay their debt to society and reform,seek redemption,only to fill out applications with the word felon to destroy that ambition.Now they have the options of steal or starve,Whats your decision?
Their optimism and faith no longer accompany them on the journey,they travel far from their minds at long distance,no longer do they pursue righteousness relentless with hard work and persistence,their spirit and soul now lie dormant and listless,their hearts are so calloused their teetering between evil and vicious.Their past mistakes destroyed their future wishes,Now all they have to hold onto is a few letters,pictures,and hope of weekend visits.
We must all be held accountable for our actions and the crimes we commit,but a really bad mistake and the title "felon" should not cease a man or woman's opportunity to earn,just completely demolish and diminish their chance at a honest and normal existence,common sense says you punish the crime,but if you do not help these young men and women reform that genuinely seek it,you just promote a tired cycle of more crime and maliciousness, which in return puts them in the same streets and the same predicaments and the victims then are usually the just and innocent,the cycle just continues with no signs of finish.
If we can all make a valid effort,me included,on not being so judgmental,the youth and the future will listen to our guidance we gained from life experience,our open hearts and outstretched hands will be meet with trust,no longer with stubbornness,resilience and resistance,they are accountable for digging their own holes,but don't turn your back on them when they ask for help out the trenches,just because they made a poor choice and committed a crime that did not make sense,it does not necessarily make them senseless.if you don't stop the cycle early you give birth to a pessimist,which in turn keeps their creativity captive behind bars and fences,teaching them to be leaders and just is the most extravagant of presents,provide them with the answers to their curiosity and que
*questions,you turn a child or teen down once it could give them a lifetime of second guessing,watching a young man or woman overcome the odds with your help is the by far the most humbling blessing.
Don't dare cease to forget even someone you deem in your eyes as "good" is still covered in mistakes and sin,so don't be so quick to give people the life sentence.It really means nothing whether your saint,sinner,criminal,Muslim,atheist,Catholic or Christian,we all fuck up,if we are sincere about mistakes in our heart,then you know we all need forgiveness and repentance,if not for others then just for a routine soul cleansing,so give these troubled youth discipline with a strong dose of accountability and acceptance and you might just give a teen or child who is on the wrong path the right medicine.
