I think it’s interesting that getting a masters degree is seen as a “poor work ethic”. And a lot of kids stay in college because the jobs out there pay $ 20,000-40,000 which in a lot of places isn’t enough to be out of poverty. Even with a bachelors degree a lot of people in my area make the same as people without them.

Why put in any more effort when people discover that all the reward for effort they’ve been told will pay off no longer exists? Boomers promised us all these things based of their own experience while those who control the rules have been robbing us by paying lower wages and benefits to increase their profit statements.

We are a work force that is being taken advantage of because we have no other choice. We can be fired by a whim. A lot of us feel like we have no future. We can’t have families because childcare is as expensive as a place to live. We have been in such a competitive over-saturated world and haven’t had emotional needs met so a lot of us only feel like we have ourselves. And what’s our purpose in this world?

I agree with partnership. And that’s where the breakdown starts happening and relationships start deteriorating. Being a roommate and being a partner is two different things. People wake up now a days and wonder why they aren’t happy or cheat or whatever. You have individual goals and couple goals. They have to be in sync to make it.

I would love if my partner and I can have careers and a successful relationship. But there still needs to be time put towards our partnership on all levels for it to work.
