Since iq was brought into question in kittens' thread, I figured we could provide clarification if you've ever taken a proctored test

Also post your mercury sign and whether there is a hard aspect between Uranus and Mercury

Im 118 when proctored around age 8, and online tests over the years have been consistent with this

Cancer Mercury, 9° opposition to Uranus (so out of orb)

if you judge a Capricorn man by his relationships with non-Pisces women, he will live his whole life believing that he is unworthy of genuine love.

what thread?

I took one recently it said 125

the secret is to rush as fast as you can

Ill never get over when you said "haematids", not to mention "insouciance" 😍 canceronthecusp said that a pair of dxpers have an iq below 85 in the custody battle thread. It probably has to do with differing political opinions

Its not the difference of opinion, its how that difference of opinion is handled that is the pointer that prompted my comment.

Especially if there is intellectual dishonesty and the immediate default to name calling or casting aspertions when there is a lack of substance in the arguement.

As to your OP--never took a proctored test, but on others, including timed tests and 'education independent' tests (my term), and scored in a range depending on the type of test and whether I had a hangover or something. But it did cosistently score above a threshold.

There was a user here some years ago humble bragging about potentially joining Mensa. Thinking the thread was conversational, I shared a story about taking one of those promotional tests Mensa sometimes put out, finding an error in the test, and emailing Mensa to point out the oversight. Got a response back inviting me to take steps to apply.

As to the humble brag thread to which I was referring, my mistake at that time was assuming the thread was conversational, rather than the OP bragging online.

As far as placements, I used to share those here, until certain individuals, without respect for boundaries were doing the astro equivalent of doxxing.

The issue with IQ and how it relates to life is that decision-making is more emotionally based than intellectual/rational.

I honestly feel that IQ should have a letter preceding it to describe the type it is, because we have emotional intelligence and cognitive intelligence (and others, if you want to name them). Whilst IQ is cognitive in itself, cognitive intelligence covers more stuff like memory and language. People with good memories who are great at pub/ general knowledge quizzes and things aren't always great at IQ tests and vice versa.

Anyway I'm an intp who scored over 120 in my 20's, but my EQ has grown a lot since then and since having children. I sometimes wonder if this has been swapped for some of my IQ and I am now more balanced, or whether I still have that as well as the new stuff I've learned. Would I be able to delve into the things I used to and still have the same ability. I don't know. I don't even know if I'm still an intp. Maybe I'll take a test or something.

Mercury 6° Cancer. Hard aspects to three planets but not Uranus.

true, IQ only serves to measure your capacity to solve logic tests on a paper, but I think that, for example, people with social intelligence are more "intelligent" than autists who are good at solving tests

Every time I hear "mensa" I think of that one Columbo episode with the mensa club who were just a bunch of morons trying to impress each other (reddit)

I'm probably below room temperature. Tbh I don't even know where to take an IQ test, and trust me I've tried. I think last time they wanted my email or something which instantly pissed me off and made me close the page. I think I took one in middle school when they recommended kids jobs to potentially start following. Somehow I ended up sticking rocks to walls and floors. They straight up recommended my dumb little ass to join the military. Fucking fodder to be molded into whatever they wanted. Honestly judging my life choices it probably would have been a much better path in all honesty.

I kind of felt fucked up admitting that in all honesty. I was just a stubborn kid that thought he knew better then anyone else. I think a part of me actually regrets not joining. Technically I could still join, but its likely not happening.

I don't know what intelligent written in speech marks means, but I believe different types of intelligence to be fundamental to the continued and well-rounded growth of society, in much the same way that different types of people play their own important roles.

For example many reclusive scientists and maths geniuses played crucial roles in helping us progress, whereas people with a high EQ help with the cohesion between societies and in solving conflicts. However, I believe a good balance of the two is important in bridging the gap between spirituality and science, which is becoming quite a pressing matter these days, especially with all the AI and robot crap.

I believe one of the reasons Einstein was so ahead of his time in terms of his scientific visions and hypotheses was his EQ and his understanding of spirituality. He downloaded scientific epiphanies regularly. He argued that there is no conflict between religion and science.

I'm not very good at maths so without that, I think my IQ is a lot lower. My memory is sharp though. Mercury in 5th. The only aspects to Uranus is trine moon in 9th house.

Moon is big on memory imo. Mine fluctuates. For example I love a good quiz but sometimes for the life of me I can't think of the name of my answer, even though I know what it is and why.

I always thought that most significant long-termers on dxp are above average intelligence. Its a sink or swim community. Im not surprised there are so many gifted users

Much like ive been lucky to cross paths mainly with well-endowed men, im always somehow drawn to people who are more intelligent than me- at least when it comes to men I guess. Intelligence was most important in our family growing up and I grew up exposed to smarter people and I guess grew comfortable with those conversations, it stuck with me. Im glad my mom gave me that and took us to all those museums. As much as I think that lower iq people can have much to offer

It's probably better if I don't know honestly. Like I've made some mistakes, but also accomplished more then most average people. That could just be stubbornness mixed with ignorance from the refusal of failure though. I honestly don't need to question things anymore then that for my own sanity at this point in life.
