All signs have their own flaws, but something about Cancer sun or any major Cancer placement’s shadow side just makes me want to distance myself from them as far as possible

i agree with the poster up there who said cancer and their childlike/dependent behavior.
currently have a cancer temporarily staying with me in my house smothering, suffocating and draining the life force out of me. and what’s weird is he seems oddly energized and rejuvenated probably cuz he’s sucking all of my energy up. 😑 he says he doesn’t wanna go home cuz he feels so rested here. it’s like no matter how much i “baby” him like he seems to want me to, he wants more and more and it’s never ending. he’s eight years younger than me so i’m trying to cut this dude some slack but i’m feeling drained.
i feel like i’ve aged five to ten years spending these last few weeks with him. like i’m not even kidding. i look in the mirror and feel like i’ve aged from stress and his infantile “baby me” behavior directed at me 24/7. i’m so ready for this dude to go home and give me some breathing room but i gotta stay with him for a few more days cuz his return ticket isn’t until the 17th. i’ve been taking care of this dude doing everything for him for the past few weeks like i’m his mom or something. he takes no initiative in anything and relies entirely on me like a literal child.
i’m an aries. i need breathing room. yesterday he kept asking me what i’m doing every five minutes (i wasn’t doing anything interesting. literally just folding his laundry, cooking for him, doing chores around the house while he lounged around) but he kept coming up to me frequently asking me/smothering me so i told him i don’t really like people hovering over me like a helicopter constantly and he sulked for the next hour until i brought his ass ice cream and babied him again.
i can’t.
rant over lol sorry, i rarely rant but this dude is draining me with his infantile behavior lol
i miss my independent sag dude. he’s away visiting family for two weeks right now. he knows this cancer dude is here. i can’t wait for my dude to come home. this cancer dude is one of my business/streaming partners. 😑

then again, his emotionally draining behavior may have something to do with his moon opposite pluto too. these people are like black holes. no matter how much time, attention, emotion you pour into them, it’s never “enough”.

I'm typically not inclined to participate in ragging on specific signs parties, but my finding cancer energy challenging to say the least is no secret either. Their pervasive need or desire for other people's complete & utter emotional surrender & vulnerability while maintaining walls around their own hearts is frustrating at best. Mistrusting of anything good, they deploy manipulative tactics in order to elicits (desired) responses. Should a person dare see throguh said tactics & responds by emotionally shutting down as a defence mechanism, cancer energy perceives that as proof positive that they were right all along! It creates resentment on both ends which then turns into a self-fullfiling proficy. Shit just schoudnt be so damn hard! Your heart isn't any more precious than mine, ppl!
When they are good, they are like panacea for all ailments. But when they go sours, well...
Out of all placements, I must confess, I find cancer Mercury the most frustrating & I'm sure feelings are very much mutual.

Pretty good. This explains my Sagittarius sun Leo Moon nephew to a tee. I don't know how anybody put up with that Leo Moon bully. I dont think i can control my temper with that guy and sucka punch him straight in the eye. If all Leo moons are like your descriptions above, then I will indeed consider them on my hate list.

i was in there for no more than 20 minutes.
and this dude literally comes and opens the bathroom door fully knowing i’m in there and goes “oh. i was wondering where you went”

Not entirely true. I, for one, am trying my best to tackle this. For the fact that my moon is hidden by scorpio (in the 8th house) it's hidden, but also annoying af even I myself can recognize me being annoying to people. Things can get ugly really deep down and if just lose control over myself I can be passive aggresive or straighr forward aggresion. Honestly I don't wonder if certain people avoid me.
I retreat when I sense I am making people feel repulsed and to be in my sensitive self I need to always remind myself that how much is the correct measurement of care placed. Having Aqua in my 3rd house helps with this knowing distancing can be good at times of need. Thinking safely that when people don't ask, then don't do anything about it. Enough respect to understand that one may not always need your help or care. They simply just don't want to be disturbed. I sometimes perceive requests from other people can get real hefty I can go away "selfishly" with my sag rising and just focus on what I wanna do for myself. However for the placement of my scorpio sun and saturn in the 12th, even though I am away, i guilt trip myself into being. I don't even know what to do sometimes.. just non sensical long pondering about mysteries I myself can never know.
I require myself hefty alone time and the reasonable guilt for not caring enough for my loved ones can make it even more complicated.

feeling guilty about asking for alone time is a thing that people actually struggle with. i do too. but i’m learning to tell these needy folks, “i just gotta do xyz so give me some time. i promise i’m not gonna forget about you.” and they usually don’t put up much of a fuss cuz they know i won’t forget about them.

Big babies. Love to get reactions out of people and provoke for the sake of provocation. Ask them not to poke the bear and they'll actively poke that bear cuz you told them not to. They love to joke on other people's expence but their ego bruises easily when the joke's on them. Can dish it out but can't take it -type. Somewhat on the martyr side over shit they themselves stirred up.
Their humor is kind of lame and tryhard (Ands excluded) , their jokes and comebacks have too much exposition to hit the right spots and I normally just end up cringing inside.
Like sad clowns They also seem to use humor as coping mechanism which can come off as disrespectful and inappropriate at times. But in order to be sad clowns they'd have to have an inner life of some sort, while it actually mostly seems to revolve around how they are percieved by others.

It creates resentment on both ends which then turns into a self-fullfiling proficy. Shit just schoudnt be so damn hard! Your heart isn't any more precious than mine, ppl!

Out of all placements, I must confess, I find cancer Mercury the most frustrating & I'm sure feelings are very much mutual.

that’s crazy that you had to escape to your parents house in order to get some alone time lol 😂 i think this sign (cancer) worries more than other signs. and perhaps that worry/anxiety leads to unnecessary “invading of personal space/clingy behavior”. i’m not quite sure but yeah.

I retreat when I sense I am making people feel repulsed and to be in my sensitive self I need to always remind myself that how much is the correct measurement of care placed. Having Aqua in my 3rd house helps with this knowing distancing can be good at times of need. Thinking safely that when people don't ask, then don't do anything about it. Enough respect to understand that one may not always need your help or care. They simply just don't want to be disturbed. I sometimes perceive requests from other people can get real hefty I can go away "selfishly" with my sag rising and just focus on what I wanna do for myself. However for the placement of my scorpio sun and saturn in the 12th, even though I am away, i guilt trip myself into being. I don't even know what to do sometimes.. just non sensical long pondering about mysteries I myself can never know.
I require myself hefty alone time and the reasonable guilt for not caring enough for my loved ones can make it even more complicated.
I should care more but genuine care with no expectations to make it clear.

don’t worry. you’re good. you’re self aware enough. you’re trying to self regulate so you don’t hurt people. you know what healthy amount of distance looks like and you practice it. you’re doing fine.

feeling guilty about asking for alone time is a thing that people actually struggle with. i do too. but i’m learning to tell these needy folks, “i just gotta do xyz so give me some time. i promise i’m not gonna forget about you.” and they usually don’t put up much of a fuss cuz they know i won’t forget about them.

Ah I see. I have a hard time with the level of detachment that Cap Moons can exhibit. Once I had called capinc (Quad Cap - Sun Moon Merc Rising) an ice wall once because it got to a point where his detachment was eroding my composure like crazy. I’m telling you I love my Aries people but that Mercury in Aries is a MF especially if they have a lot of earth in their chart lol I used to dislike my Mercury sign but now I like it people with that placement are creative with their words now I’ll still tell it like it is but we have the ability to choose when, it’s almost like Mercury in Aries can’t help but say negative things impulsively.
