You will be waiting around for a long time. But he will contact. You just wont have the patience for it and that will drive him away. Dont expect anything at all from him and you will have your best chance. Also stop initiating until hes done more. Dont hold your breath for this one.
Him being a guy...if he was motivated, he'd be so. Seems like he's distracted by everything else that's probably more important.
