Over time. It's not about them proving themselves tho. It's about the individual working hard to get over bad experiences
For me tho I get over bad experiences by not being around them anymore. But if I'm stuck being around them then it'll be hard getting over things because u are constantly being reminded by their presence.
I'm not talking about getting over it. I'm asking about how to build trust. I suppose those go hand in hand, but I'm focusing on what I can do to build trust on that subject.
Well I really base this off my own experience as opposed to being Aqua but I do notice the similarities that Aquas do remember a lot of detail and love especially to recall the HURT of a past relationship.
Pluto is my dominant planet with pisces > scorpio ranking as dominant signs. It took me a REALLY REALLY long time to get over bad experiences, in fact truth be told they don't really go away. In saying that though I don't like putting that pressure on someone new, it's just a lot easier but I'd be kidding myself and I don't want to put that pressure on someone that has nothing to do with my past.
But who knows! I've had a lot of time in between to deal with this and I'm starting to differentiate these emotions and not allowing it to consume me when it arises.
One way is to not really think about it that much I guess! He'll believe what he wants to and if he plays up get sharp with him and remind him you're not part of the bad past but something new and awesome.

By getting over it. This is a new guy. He doesn't deserve your exes label
Scorp, it's not about MY ex. Its about his.

Then the advice is for vice versa!

I don't carry baggage from my previous relationships. I don't want this new person to pay for what my ex did. And I'd get really upset if someone does that to me. It's just so unfair. I learn from my previous relationships and try to do better next time. I have faith in those around me and assume they are good unless proven otherwise. Maybe it's my pisces venus, I'm quite forgiving and trusting.
Although they do know that whatever they "learned" about male or female gender from previous relationships they handle future partners the same way.
For example, if the past couple of ex gfs or bfs they had wanted space if they were angry... if their new partner was angry they will automatically give them space even if their new partner doesn't like handling things that way.
Even if they keep telling the aqua that, aqua will keep doing it cause that potentially is all they know or have learned.
I think one needs to resolve their trust issues before getting into a relationship PERIOD. Nobody deserves someone else's crap. If you can't get over it, then ahoy ahoy single life.
I say the above because my ex had major baggage he walked into our relationship with, and he was raining misery on me all the time. His ex of 3 years cheated on him, and as a result he was constantly worrying about which guy I was friends with, where I was going, who I was interacting with, didn't want to let me out of his sight. I didn't deserve that shit!
It's a tough go. And the older we get, the more baggage we carry.
I suppose the trick is to take time and not rush anything.
it sucks big time if your dead ex haunts you and tries to "possess" you. *shakes head*
Seriously i'm not joking. My ex died a few years back and I didnt even know it. That's some serious baggage from the dead.
I'm not so stressed about it now cause when i first came here it was venus retrograde. I'm understanding the power of planetary influences and how the power of the dead come back to haunt.
I think if you have issues that you have not come to terms with.... you probably should not get into a relationship.
BUT the exception would be that by you having a relationship with someone they in turn help you come to terms with your issues... and they heal your wounds... and in doing so it is gratifying for them. That them being the healer of your soul has no negative affect on them and ideally has a positive affect.

So if you have baggage from a previous relationship, how difficult is it for you to learn to trust someone else?
Say for instance, if your ex abused your trust financially, how would someone prove they are not like the previous one?
