I just checked it right now, it looks like a pretty cool gadget. the new one has an improved display, longer battery life and more storage. It also reads to you too but heres some good info you might wanna know:
1. The Kindle 1 has a user replacable battery
The Kindle 2 does not.
2. The Kindle 1 has a small amount of internal memory but, has an SD card slot for additional/removable storage of up to 4GB I believe.
The Kindle 2 has 2GB of internal storage (some is used by the OS) but, the SD card slot has been removed so no additional memory can be added.
